If you look west tonight you will see Jupiter and Venus converge to where it will look like a giant star that some say could be the star of Bethlehem the wise men followed to see baby Jesus. Whether or not this is the actual celestial event the Magi saw that night over 2000 years ago it will still be a pretty neat sight to see.

It's too late. Already, at least that many people are following "stars" that lead to nowhere.

The bible does not call them "wise men" or even "kings", what they were is "magi". A magus is a priest of the Zoroastrian faith. During the Babylonian Exile the Jews were powerfully influenced by this faith and even 500 years later that connection remained strong.

Au contraire, these men were powerfully influenced by the prophecies of Daniel while he was in exile there.
What liberal hogwash Jack.

from what i have read Zoroastrianism was a lot like Hinduism, they would incorporate other faiths into their own belief system.
its a very complex belief system for sure.

Why would God honor Zoroastrianism by leading them to His Child (about 2 year old)??
All indications is that they took the prophecies in the writings of Daniel, believed those writings/prophecies and God honored their faith by leading them to His Son.

The Book of Daniel was written in 168 BC by an unknown author. Why it did not get tossed out along with the other intratestamental books is beyond me. It would be pleasant if we could have a discussion without using terms like "hogwash". I am a liberal or progressive Christian because that is the only way I can maintain my spiritual and intellectual integrity. I also realize that you disagree.

Liberal miracle-denying brainwashing hogwash, they don't believe in God or in His prophecies so they deny an early date to Daniel.Your showing your true colors JACKRT.

You know, I posted this is thread in hopes it would be of interest to everyone. It isn't a topic that's necessary for debate nor is it something to fight over and drag politics into. Yet..... Whatdayaknow.... Yall did it.

Unfortunately, it was too cloudy for me to see last night, but the moon here had a reddish tint and the sun earlier in the day was so dull in light you could look straight at it. I'll post pics others took and loaded on Facebook.
