I'm a former cop, former prison guard, conservative Christian. I think liberals get it wrong most of the time. However, my 9mm hand gun holds nine rounds. My shotgun holds six. After some of these highly publicized mass shootings, we hear that the shooters fired off over 100 rounds. Therefore, one of the ideas someone had was to ban clips that extend out of the handle of a handgun and allow 20-30, maybe more, rounds to be fired in succession. The rifles being used by some of the shooters also have the ability to fire one shot after another until a clip holding a large number of rounds is depleted. Would it be acceptable to reduce the size of the clips being modified for use in hand guns and rifles? It doesn't mean banning guns or confiscating guns. It means making them less like a weapon our soldiers are using on the battlefield.
I've had fellow law enforcement officers gunned down by criminals with superior firepower. Some of which was legal for them to have. Passing a law that restricts the amount of rounds that can be placed in a clip will certainly not stop violent sociopaths from using handguns or rifles to murder people. It may reduce the body count or give some time to a citizen carrying a handgun to return fire and save innocent lives. I don't like supporting liberals or their ideas, but this is an idea that seems to have merit.
