I imagine we agree on more than just nukes :D

I would respectfully suggest you read the Federalist Papers... at least the ones that discuss bearing arms. They are very enlightening as to what the founders intended.

Either way, this isn't a deal-breaker, brother.... I enjoy discussions like this, as long as both parties are willing to at least listen to the "other side"... which you have done, and I hope I have, as well.

Come to Texas for a visit.... I'll take you shooting.. You can even shoot my "evil black rifle".... it's surprisingly enjoyable.
Right on! I would love that! Thank you for discussing with a loving spirit. :)

Come to Virginia and you can shoot my black rifle and my black pistols if you behave yourself. ;)

That sounds more like aggravated assault then. Assuming there was a spoon ban, if people can force-feed people using their training and gloves, the spoon wouldn't even be needed. So banning a useless object would do nothing to stop the force-feeding fanatics. If anything, using spoons to force-feed someone would be less efficient if they did so via spoon. lol

Hopefully I've made my point how spoons and guns are not even close to being comparable.

Well then you ban gloves. Lol

This is true. Just like we do with scripture, we must place ourselves in the time that it was written to fully understand the context though.

In 1776, how many people owned AK47's? Semi automatic hand-guns? They had muskets and Flintlocks. We could assume the founding fathers COULD envision semi/auto weapons, grenades/bombs, and even nuclear weapons or we could assume they had no idea what kind of weapons of mass destruction man would later invent. A legitimate case could be made for either side, but I lean more on, "they had no idea the weapons of mass destruction man would make."

So if we take "no infringements" of any/all arms, then we have to allow private citizens the right to grenades and nuclear weapons. Any ban on such "arms" would be counter to the 2nd amendment.
Well then if they were truly brilliant they would have written the second amendment like this:
The right of the people to bare arms shall not be infringed until such time that there are more technological firearms capable of inflicting mass casualties. Such weapons shall be reserved for the govt, which hitherto fore we warned you of being tyrannical. But in that case it will be fine and all firearms should be made unavailable and illegal for the people. Because the govt will protect you.

That's funny... except I truly believe that many of our leftist politicians think it reads JUST like that....
