It is sad :( it never seems to end

but I do wonder
Will the police officer who murdered the black man (because no one can deny it is murder to shoot a man that has been handcuffed and has a man sitting on top of him) get the same justice as the ones who are now murdering policemen?

Maybe he will. Maybe he won't. But either way it still doesn't make it ok to randomly shoot cops. The polices actions are always tried in the court of public opinion and the sentences are handed out all in less than 24 hours. People don't take time to learn the facts. They have already created the 'facts' in their mind. So even IF there were a justifiable reason to retaliate the people doing these sorts of things would still be in the wrong because they are simply eager to retaliate against any Perceived insult.
This is common prison/ghetto mentality, only now we're seeing it on a national level. And instead of gang members shooting each other, this mentality has moved into shooting cops. Shoot first, and don't ask questions later.
And blaming all cops (regardless of their color, even though these people insist this is a racial issue) and all white people.

I understand what point you're getting at, but, even though i have no doubt you did not intend to suggest this, the statement does lend to the idea, indirectly, that these attacks on police are justified. If the one cop won't get in trouble (*IF as nothing has been decided yet) for what they have done, then it's not fair to prosecute those who have killed cops. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Of course it isn't right
it's just that people seem to think that some people are doing more evil by committing murder than other people.

Hey, you know me, I am against all lethal force

You do wonder, huh?

How's this story. Same guy.

...the officer said he was dispatched to a convenience store after getting a complaint about a subject "on the corner selling CDs" and that the subject had pulled a gun on someone.

According to the officer's report, when he arrived at the store, he spotted the suspect, whom he later identified as Sterling, carrying a crate of CDs.

The officer asked Sterling to put his hand on the hood of his police car and asked if Sterling had any weapons on him. The report says Sterling did "not answer" and, as the officer continued to pat him down, Sterling started reaching for his pocket.
The officer went on to say in the report that Sterling suddenly spun around and the two began to struggle. The officer and Sterling hit the ground. The officer said he was able to call for backup as Sterling tried to push him off.
"While wrestling with this subject on the ground, a black semi-auto hand gun fell from this subject's waist band at this time," the report states.
A deputy with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office arrived as the officer was on the ground with Sterling. The two eventually were able to get Sterling into handcuffs. "Sterling was then escorted to my unit, where he continued to fight with officers," the report ends.

Now, Baton Rouge is a mid-size town and it's 8 years later. Think maybe the cops talked about the guy selling illegal CDs who wrestled a cop and a gun came out of his waistband during the struggle? Think maybe the cops might be thinking, "Be careful around this guy. He's dangerous." Think maybe they keep that memory to protect people and themselves?

I know the US has a history of lynching, but we don't do that anymore. Stopped before I became a teenager. And, honestly? I'm not into the mindset of people deciding to lynch folks BEFORE knowing the whole story -- smartphones or not!

And honestly? Four cops are dead now, but you're wondering if it will be equal justice? No, it won't be. Because those cops weren't selling illegally, weren't stop by other cops, and weren't wrestling other cops. They were doing their legal and necessary jobs when some creeps thought they had the right to murder people in the same field because maybe, just maybe, someone else did something bad. Sterling was a criminal. Those cops weren't.

IF the cop shouldn't have shot him, he's probably looking at a few years in a place he sent other men. THIS was cold-blooded mass murder! Should those creeps get just a few years in a place with nothing but cops?

In NZ the cops don't shoot first they taser the person first then if that doesn't work they shoot him in leg or arm not the chest if they can help it. Where's the taser in the USA?

You don't use a taser on a felony stop or if someone has a weapon. That is just stupid to expect a PO to pull a taser out when the criminal has a knife or gun.

Those things are written by dreamers who need to volunteer to ride along, and make the arrests for the officers.

A taser wouldn't do jack to a drugged up guy with a knife.

No it's not stupid we do it in NZ and police don't get hurt very often. You don't need to shoot someone with a knife. The police shot someone recently because he had a slasher and the taser wouldn't stop him but that doesn't happen often.

Gotta say this is troubling. The thugs aint respecting the police no more, this could get out of hands. A whole mess of trigger happy criminals on the loose...I even heard a 12 year old was taken into custody for allegedly being planning on killing cops. I hope the BLM is addressing this, because this is about to backfire now.

No but with the recent death of the black guy with the cops on top they should have tasered him as he was already down. The police shot him in the chest instead.

I know a policeman and have talked to him about it.

Reading the posts here I get a feeling that people don't know what dealing with this kind of thugs really is. Many of them are people with no empathy whatsoever, they'd break somebodys neck like snap if that could get them an extra dime.

That would be a video I would like to see. Can you post it? The only video I've seen didn't show anything like that.

So, please post it.

Wow you are talking with such ignorance it is sickening. So in a life or death situation you expect an officer to make a split decision whether he/she should pull out their taser or gun when someone has a knife and threatening them? And I would shoot someone attacking me with a knife 100% of the time vs pulling out my taser. And do you realize you have to be pretty close to shoot someone with a taser? And also when someone is wearing a lot of clothes or using body armor taser's won't work?

Please educate yourself a little before spouting off.

sounds like you agree with shooting people have you watched the black being shot by the cops that sat on top? I have and it was so unnecessary to shoot him in the chest. The cops employ the taser more often than they shoot people. You can tell whether to use your gun or not. Hardly any cops get hurt or killed in NZ so must work.
