I find it interesting that so many people take this more seriously than the people who mock God every day.

Are the flag and anthem your idols?
God is our Caretaker and we are the caretakers of our nation, especially our veterans. Don't worry, God will not be mocked. His vengeance is on His time.

I have no idea who the guy is Dude.
I just see that many Americans are so eager in their patriotism that they speak of America as if it were a god
not as a God but as a place they are proud of. we do have many patriotic people here no doubt. Comparing Patriotic to God. is like comparing Apples to Oranges. You can love both and still be a good person. You can be passionate for many things.

Exactly. That was a textbook example of a straw man fallacy. Do any of you happen to remember that time the Dixie Chicks made negative statements about George Bush and it ended their career? Knowing that most country music fans are are most likely Republican that was a very poor choice on their behalf. Sure they exercised their freedom of speech but it cost rhem their career as well.

I look up to you very much, brother Popeye, but seriously, give me a little credit. I understand full well what's taking place with Black youth across our great nation because I live in the trenches with many young Blacks. They are indeed misguided, but my responses in this thread were directed at the OP who HATES Trump for being a "fascist" yet fascism was on full display with his OP rhetoric. I despise hypocrisy and I called it out. But not surprisingly my comment to him was ignored.

On edit: the OP responded but still displayed fascism.
You have my respect also friend.

I may be wrong on the deal,as it is a judgement call, and my patience is thin of late.

Bless you

Remember that old saying freedom isn't free? He wants his freedom of speech...fine.... he can keep his butt on the bench for the rest of the game too..... I would have the freedom of speech to walk through a black neighborhood wearing a t-shirt that says I love the KKK however there will be consequences for my actions
I lie down and sleep; I wake again because the Lord sustains me. I am not afraid of the thousands of people who have taken their stand against me on every side. Psalm 3

Actually I've never used that word fascist when referring to Donald Trump. I've use the word demagogue, pompous buffoon with narcissistic personality disorder, childish ,bully, unprofessional, con artist... but not fascist

Anyway it aggravates the poop out of me when people try to say that a Christian cannot be patriotic. Anyone who says they can have several seats

It's all good my brother, and believe me, my patience is thin as well. You're absolutely correct in what you share, and we need to be ever aware of the storm that will eventually be coming to America, and we need to be vigilant because what's coming ain't gonna be pretty.

Straw man?
Patriotism = love for ones country.
If a person (I am NOT saying this is any of you!) loves their country more than God, that makes the country and idol,
be it America, Norway or any other country

He has the right to exercise his views.
Now, if his contract or if some general NFL edict makes clear he can't do that, then he should be given a warning. If he does it again, then take whatever action is allowed by his contract.
He doesn't need to like or respect this country to be here. He doesn't need to be mature to play football.
It would be ideal if he was enjoying this countries society, football, and his teammates, but if he is not, he's not.
There are a lot worse things people do everyday in this country. He stands out because he is in the public eye. When you look at the big picture, what he did wasn't a "federal crime."
If you want to talk about people that are causing this country harm, look to Hillary Clinton, then we've got a real conversation going.

I was jerks like him could see what it's like to endure the hardships of War and serving our country in order to give him the freedom to act like a spoiled little kid.... now that's hypocrisy.. let me disrespect the national anthem that represents the people who fought and died to give me the freedom to do so.

Actually, the bible tells us very clearly we cannot serve two masters

PS: I am not defnding whatever bs this guy has said and done, I just don't see why this seems to be such a huge thing, when there are school children being murdered every year, people being raped, people starving etc etc

Respecting the national anthem is not serving another master. Funny how this guy talks about oppression but he's Muslim, a religion known worldwide for oppression

I am probably going to get pummeled for this, but here I go. when I was a kid, we loved old glory. to us, it stood for freedom, God , guts and guns. now it stands for gay marriage , political correctness, and government entitlement programs.

I stand for the anthem, but I do not put my hand over my heart, because this junk we have today ain't America.

Ok, so we quit honoring what our country use to be? Well Christianity isn't like it was should we just give up on it as well? I think Christians just give up way to easy when it comes to our Nation or really anything in the world. Aren't we suppose to be the light of the world?

I agree with Utah. Brave men and women died so that ungrateful babies could have the right to be ungrateful babies. He should be allowed to be an ungrateful baby, just as we should have the right to think he's an ungrateful baby (and hope he rots on the bench).
