Pre Obamacare, Obamacare, and Post Obamacare all have one thing in common. That being that anyone needing Medical Treatment/Care can go to the nearest Emergency Room and receive said Treatment/Care, and many times, they will not have to pay for that Treatment/Care.

Now, this is surely not nearly as good as having Health Insurance where one has a Primary Care Doctor and such, but, in America, anyone in need of health care can receive it...........and many, many have, do, and will continue to do regardless of what happens with Obamacare.

America: Every GOP claim about the Obamacare economy was dead wrong, from jobs to wages to deficits

Fact Check: More Jobs (+15.7M), Rising Middle-Class Incomes (+$3K), Lower Deficit (-2/3rds)
That’s the true story of the Obamacare economy. But unless Democrats start speaking with one voice on the issue, Americans will remain much more familiar with the false “job-killing, wage-reducing, deficit-busting” myths Republicans have been spreading for seven years.
“It will bankrupt our nation, and it will ruin our economy! … This health care law … is already destroying jobs in our country.” —John Boehner, 2011
“We now know that Obamacare has been one of the single biggest drags on job creation since early 2010.” —Mitch McConnell, 2012
“[T]his is going to blow a hole through the deficit even more than we had already thought.” —Paul Ryan, 2012
“Obamacare is directly responsible for destroying jobs and lowering wages for workers” —Senate Republican Policy Committee, 2014
“It is the biggest job-killer in this country.” —Ted Cruz, 2016

All of these myths were easily debunked as shown in the link ....

Good to know that at least some Republicans are talking about reform rather than repeal. Time will tell as what changes are to be made, if any.

We should heavily regulate what we CAN eat... in other words, don't let them sell crap to us. Regulate THAT, if we have to regulate anything.

Insurance premiums and hospital profiteering make adequate medical care unaffordable for most Americans. In a nation as wealthy, that is a disgrace. But here's an idea: do what every other sensible country has done, and make healthcare a national institution. Tax corporations their fair share, and then use the extra money to provide healthcare for all of your citizens, free of charge. Humane. Simple. Elegant.

    Proven effective.

I don't know that this statement of yours makes much sense. But here's one that will:

In the US, a heart transplant is more likely than not to bankrupt the person who underwent it. In the UK, nobody has ever been bankrupted by medical bills.

    Here's another one:

The cost for healthcare per capita (via taxation, insurance premiums, medicaid and medicare etc), is over $9000 dollars in the US, per year. In the UK, it is less than $2000, none of which comes from avenues outside general taxation.

    Here's another one:

In the last ten years, every WHO study conducted on healthcare systems throughout the world, has ranked the UK in the top ten. The US has never once made the top ten.

    Here's another one:

The average health index of British citizens has never fallen below that of US citizens.

    Here's another one:

US citizens, while paying more than 4x as much as UK citizens for healthcare, recieve far less for their money. A study carried out last year using statistics from the the World Bank and the WHO, found that more than 50% of Americans don't have comprehensive insurance policies, despite paying relatively large sums when compared with the citizens of most developed countries.

    Here's another one:

Five countries that have cheaper, more economically efficient healthcare systems than the US, according to the WHO - Saudi Arabia, Libya, Mexico, China and Turkey.

    Hi,

can someone (from the us) explain to me, why you do not want affordable mandatory health care insurance.
here in Germany we pay a percentage of our earnings. It is done automatically like tax, you provide your
employer with the insurance company of your choice and then it works automatically like incometaxes.
We call the fact that everyone has mandatory healthcare insurance one of our core achievements since 1883 !!!!!!!!!!

    Greetings, sandigeress.

Because it is "affordable" only in title for many of us.

I researched what insurance was going to cost me under the "Affordable" Care Act and found that it would cost me almost what my rent does. In other words I had a choice, buy health insurance or keep a roof over my head.

Ryan confronted by cancer patient who says ObamaCare saved his life

    Source: The Hill

Paul Ryan faced some tough questions from audience members at a CNN town hall Thursday night, starting with a cancer patient who said ObamaCare saved his life.

Jeff Jeans said he was a lifelong Republican and small business owner who had worked on the Reagan and Bush campaigns and was originally opposed to the Affordable Care Act.

But he said at 49 he was diagnosed with cancer and given six weeks to live.

"Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, I’m standing here today alive," he said. "I rely on the Affordable Care Act to be able to purchase my own insurance. Why would you repeal the Affordable Care Act without a replacement?"

Let's hope that if changes are going to be made, they will be for the better by making the new system more comprehensive, inclusive, and affordable.

Praise be to God! Obama Care was not an issue for me until my company was restructured I was let go from my job of nine years. Obama Care forces everyone to have insurance. If you don't, then when it's time to do taxes, they will fine you for not having it. It's none of their business whether or not I have insurance! The last thing that an unemployed individual with no income wants to do, is run out an buy expensive insurance. So, you take the fine at tax time and if every year that you don't have it, the fine goes up. The government has no business being in the medical business! Obama had no right to impose medical insurance upon anyone. I for one, am very happy that they are repealing it.

Maybe we should address the issue of why Healthcare is so expensive in the first place. My last emergency room visit was with a sodium hydroxide burn. This came with a $500 bill just to clean and bandage my foot. Fortunately it was a workman's comp case so I didn't have to pay the bill

I don't understand the attitudes of a large portion of the Christians that I know. Does anyone here really think that God is happy when His people find every excuse in the book to keep comprehensive healthcare from every citizen of every country?

Dismayed Trump voters tweet about losing their Obamacare benefits

Obamacare is popular — not just with President Obama’s supporters, but with many of Donald Trump’s as well. And they really don’t want it repealed.
This past week, Senate Republicans narrowly passed through a resolution calling for the repeal of six key components of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). House Republicans have been instructed to bring forward a repeal bill by January 27 — one week after Trump is officially sworn in as president. it appears that President-elect Trump and both houses of Congress are poised to undo Obama’s signature healthcare reform legislation within Trump’s first 100 days as president.
However, some of Trump’s supporters were particularly alarmed about the possibility of losing their health insurance. Their tweets all have a connecting theme of shock and surprise that the coverage they depend on, which was made possible by Obamacare, could be taken away by the man they voted for:
@realDonaldTrump asking as a concerned mom but PLEASE dont repeal https://t.co/gTkdVKkwtm act my sick daughter NEEDS the low cost ins.
    — Terrie Bearden (@cclcdirector) November 11, 2016

So far, despite the passing of 8 years and ample opportunity to improve upon ACA, no word on possible reforms and improvements.

WATCH: Colorado Republican secretly flees town hall to avoid constituents mad about gutting Obamacare

A Colorado Republican is under fire after holding what was supposed to be a town hall, only to allow four attendees at a time to see him before sneaking out a back door.
According to KUSA, hundred of constituents showed up to meet with Rep. Mike Coffman (R-CO) at a local community center in Aurora, many of them wanting to talk to the representative about his plan to vote to dismantle the Affordable Care Act. But instead of being ushered into the main hall as a group to speak with the lawmaker, they were told the congressman was only doing on-on-ones and they would have to wait their turn.
“The Representative didn’t have a plan. They expected just a small handful of people to show up,” Krondia Siebert said. “We were under the understanding it was a town hall meeting and they were only allowing four people in at a time.”
So many people showed up that local police were called in to use crime scene tape to create a perimeter to hold people back that allowed Coffman to sneak out early unbeknownst to those still waiting to see him.
According to Berthie Ruoff, she was also surprised to see so many people show up, but stuck around to talk to Coffman about the challenges she faces if the Republicans gut Obamacare.
“My husband passed away and the only way I was able to get insurance was through the Affordable Care Act, Obamacare,” she explained. “I am potentially going to lose my health insurance. I’ve had a preexisting condition. I’ve had breast cancer. What’s going to happen to me? My spouse who had health insurance passed away. What do I do? You know, what am I supposed to do?”
Unfortunately for her, like many who showed up to confront Coffman, she never got a chance to see him before he slipped out.
“I am trying to get an answer and I can’t even get in,” Ruoff said.
Watch video of Coffman’s constituents singing while waiting to see him below as well as video of him sneaking out via KUSA
