My cousin buys cheap boots from Walmart....they last abut 6 to 10 months and cost about 30 bucks....

I buy $185 to $200 dollar Rockies and get from 3 to 5 years out of a pair....and have even gotten as much as 9 years...On that pair I paid $50 to have them re-soled and cleaned.....

I rarely buy cheap stuff....I would rather pay the price and get quality that I know will last....and like Hornetguy....I carry buck knives....they take a lot to sharpen due to the hardened material....but will hold an edge for a while and thru much use....

I used to buy cheap K-mart boots, till walmart built a store across the street from them.
Then they sold everything dirt cheap, even at a lose, and run K-mart out of the area.

I have also bought walmart cheap boots, and yes you get what you payfor.
Then I started buying Danner boots under 200 bucks, these worked good.
The price rise over comfort was worth it, and lenth of use.

My co-worker wore them, and resoiled them 3 times. Me I have been bad on boots
since Marine boot camp, even these new dan. I would rip and scar the leather toe area,
and end up leaking water, about the same time I wore the soles out in them.

Theses Danners had a " made in China" label, and where cold in winter, one layer.
Then I moved up to A Danner that had "made in U.S.A. " label, under 300 bucks.

They have two layers of leather and are much heaver, as seldem used, this boot I will die
with because I will never wear them out. I do have to buy another medium priced one.
