personally i'm sick of the same two or three troublemakers...who will remain unnamed at the moment...getting away with constantly dropping into threads that were previously generally civil and trying to bully people who disagree with them into submission or silence...typically not even contributing anything to the topic of the thread...

I find it easier to block the worst offenders, and hit the down arrow in my browser window when the exchanges become belligerent. When the exchanges get completely out of hand, I find a better thread.

One thing I often notice about this site is there are often many people who come not to stand for whats right, but to shame Christians who do come to stand for whats right. An example, read a thread about homosexuality, such as a famous Christian who decides they are going to live that life, and see how some people come in to shame them for talking together about why this is bad, and why it shouldnt be accepted. They tell the Christians there talking together that they need to "love them", and that they dont like it when they see Christians holding mean signs yelling at those trapped in this life instead of sharing the Gospel and all that.

The problem with this claim is that none of that is happening, no one is claiming anyone should hate anyone, and this isnt an event where we are trying to share the Message of God. It is an online forum where current events are being discussed, and as Christians we should absolutely say that wrong is wrong, and be in agreement over it. There should be no shaming in this.

Im not talking about name calling, I havent seen much name calling. Ive seen debates get really heated, but I dont see as much name calling as others claim there is. I dont check every single thread on this forum of course. But even still, Id have to question what is being called name calling, and whether or it is what its being called. Jesus used harsh language when it was appropriate. Of course, we are not Him. But those are a part of debating, so Id have to see it for myself to believe it.

I just think it's interesting when some were humble enough to admit their faults and then you have some make excuses why arguments occur and pointing fingers at others...go figure

How do you pray for someone, sincerely that you don't like?
This may not work for everyone but I try to imagine how God feels about them...like a parent would for their child behaving in a disappointing way. Also, I look at my own sinful nature and think about how God still loves me anyway and remember I am just as guilty as anyone else of sin. It helps me find a bit of compassion?

I call out trolls for being trolls and I regularly call out false teachers/false teachings when I see them, but that's about it.

Simple to deal with. Only engage in constructive conversation and ignore the rest. I believe that posts answer questions and speak for themselves. Those who seek to antagonize or act in the spirit of the enemy can do that on their own. If you don’t respond they won’t get the fight and attention they came for, they’ll sit themselves in a corner stomping their foot. Their clique buddies will mindlessly lick their wounds with an indiscriminate number of likes to make them feel validated. So leave those posts and people to God and remember to stay on track with your subject that is the crux of the matter for the wider audience online.

With Christian love and humility. And, it ain't easy. Sometimes I have to take several minutes quietly sitting, with head bowed and eyes closed, just thinking about Jesus and all He has done for me, and where He went to get me, how far down He reached, before I can even entertain the thought of praying for someone I sincerely do not like. I'm sure they don't like me either, and that also helps. Praying for our enemies/those that wrong us is not easy, but we are Commanded to do it.

Despite all, I love everybody.

Arguments occur because some people come to preach the wrong message, no excuses needed there : p

And when you share Scripture to help correct them it gets twisted, trampled upon and ignored. Hence why Jesus teaches us to not throw pearls before swine.
