The bible is crystal clear on this. Many mortgaged their belief so they can fit in and have a better worldly life and now everyone is reaping the rewards of that.

To me, if you offer an alternative to the customers that allows both parties to walk away happy, it's not discrimination. To show you what I mean, picture this:

Say a cake shop gets the request to make a dessert for a gay wedding. The owners feel like making the cake is a violation of their religious principles. While they likely can't legally turn down the client, they can explain the situation to them and offer to sell the ingredients to the client and they can make it themselves. That, or discuss a plan that both parties agree with. If the client absolutely refuses to work with them, it's on them. Not the owners.

I don't think that business owners rights is the issue. The First Amendment supposedly grants free exercise of religion to everyone; including business owners. That should protect every citizen from being forced to violate their conscience.

With respect to military service, the principle is called conscientious objection.

If there is any clear cut basis for refusing service it is the First Amendment

Incorrect. State and federal laws guaranteeing religious freedom practices say they can do just that.

While that may be true, can a Christian who is to love their neighbors as themselves can that Christian deny anyone food, clothing, shelter and water, which are NEEDS not wants? I am limiting it to that alone. A wedding cake is NOT a need but a want.

souls (not just person's bodies/humans/time/value)

are still considered fodder/merchandise for the soul merchants according to GOD'S WORD (SCRIPTURE)

even more so in these last days. not less - it has not changed for the better for the world or the worldly.
and it won't get better except by grace
and
finally by yahshua's return.....

Does that make it right?

It used to be legal to consider humans as property.

But thank goodness that changed.

Are business owners being denied their rights currently? Does it need to change?

"can they"? they do every day.

there are (in every country,a few) living examples of christ who are different. they have layed down their lives and don't hesitate to give all that is required by jesus.

the churches who don't teach jesus WORD or jesus life or jesus way, don't do what jesus says.

Are they really Christians if they do so?
