It's because conservative values are nothing more than a smokescreen to get elected. They don't exist among conservative leadership nor among their constituents.

Or perhaps the lesson here is, be careful the 'morality' you put on parade.

Just as Jesus taught to pray behind closed doors, instead of standing on a stage and putting on a show about your conversion?

Using Religion to justify things on Fox News for example is so far against Jesus' teachings, it's perverse.

Is Fox news a Christian Org? I had no idea.

What a hypocritical thread. David, a radical progressive liberal ignores the rampant rabid institutionalized sexual immorality his own political demographic literally immerses themselves in and propagates with every ounce of their strength in the world but then turns around to hunt and peck under bushes looking for the odd non-liberal duck to chastise for engaging in something that they are literally themselves immersed in and committed to propagating. Liberal hypocrisy is on display here and it's sickening.

Accept liberals don't hold themselves up as the political party for christians. So when a liberal goes against scriptuire, its not something unexpected. Conservatives on the other hand are THE christian party in the US. And yet can't follow one of the few things they claim to believe in.

along with numerous other things that go against Christian beliefs
Christians aren't supposed to seek power over other people to begin with, nor seek the pursuit of money. ''Christian politician'' is a misnomer, at least in America, because politicians not only do seek both, but within the current political structure, they must. How many poor politicians in the modern age who do not have enormous campaign funds have ever been elected president?

Very few, I would imagine, if any.

It's a shame really that politics has come to that, in my opinion, because then Christians who want to run for offices are almost compelled to seek money, and a lot of politicians seek political power in order to assert authority. The political system does not really cater to the individual who has the best interests of the populace at heart, it caters to the most ruthless and the richest -- which is in my eyes wrong.

i kinda agree and disagree. I think on your first point a christian is to seek influence in the world...not as a means of power or control but as a way to exemplify who God is. If the christian has to use the tools of this world to do so I see nothing wrong with it so long as it stays just that...a tool to show the love of Christ.

On Your second point I like the George Orwell quote. "Political speech is designed to turn truth into lies and lies into truth and to give solidity to pure wind".

David Pakman?

The same idiot that says teaching children about hell -- he calls it "threatening" them with hell -- is mental and emotional abuse?

Yeah, gonna watch that whole thing for sure ...

... right after I turn in my gun to the FBI, paint an ISIS flag on my black bed sheets, and pay my personal and corporate taxes with a personal note to my "good buddy" Barack to please hasten the dismantling of the military, free community college, and the tax hike on me.

(You can read that to mean "never"!)

I wouldn't mind. But then I'm also not putting myself out there as some symbol of a political movement with set 'values'
