Christmas Card Controversy: Wife and Girls’ Hands Bound with Christmas Lights, Mouths Taped Shut

I wonder what would happen if the genders were* reversed. Would there be as great of an outcry?

I found it interesting that people associated the taped mouths and string light's bondage with domestic abuse. To me it spoke more of the secularization and commercialization of Christmas, and how politically incorrect saying Merry Christmas is any more. The "Peace on earth" sign eloquently tells how others will find peace only when they completely silence those who speak of the real meaning behind Christmas. It is not a very festive family photo

This is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen for people to get upset about.. For those that are, they really need to put down their fists and stop with the whole "women and equal rights" talk. It has nothing to do with that whatsoever.

I wish they had done another photo with the roles reversed and a different slogan on the chalkboard. I'm sure the woman could have come up with something hilarious. I just love the way the little boy is giving the thumbs up.

It symbolises that women are the true bearers of light, but men have taped their mouths shut because they are jealous, have womb envy, are controlling, and not willing to share power. The little boy is complicit with his dad, giving the thumbs up sign to show his approval of being next in line to inherit the riches of the world while his mother and sisters are mute and stymied. They are only untied to cook, bake, clean, sew, and procreate. Bwa hahahahahaha. Merry Christmas!
