Judgement has come to America because she has become proud and has defiled all the nations with her ideologies and way of life as well as her hand been in many genocides throughout the Earth including the people who occupy America today. America is oppressing God's people and is not seeking repentance.

A study of scriptures reveals that when an area rejects God lock, stock and barrel while embracing wickedness and sin that one of his judgments is to dry it up and make it a desert and wilderness.....just saying that is.........!

Two things....

1. Keep believing that...you bet!
2. Wait till God (warms) the planet with his fiery indignation!

Amen to this statement and agrees with the bible for sure.........America has Christian churches and people, but at the end of the day is a Gentile world power that will be judged just as every other Gentile power has been judged.....the suppression of biblical principles, while taking God out of everything and embracing homosexuality, lesbianism, sexual immorality and the murder of babies is sufficient reason for God to rise and judge!

Reading Job we learn what can happen if God just takes His hand of blessing off a person, household, community, state, nation or even a continent. An example could be California, where so many religious and social abominations seem to have been birthed. People that can leave are leaving at an increasing rate, the rich as fast as possible. If you have a home or business there, sell well before moving out, as the state will come after you for high taxes for up to 18 months even though you might owe taxes in your new state. The drought could divert another huge share of their agri business to Mexico. That loss of U.S. blessing would affect all us Americans. The population there includes Christians, but the general expulsion of God has left very little help from God. At least He is known to give the righteous some warning to leave, rather than get caught up in disasters. What began in that state has spread like a cancer throughout the U.S., though at least in the Bible Belt there has been opposition to it's influence.

Angels have power of natural forces, as learned throughout the Bible, especially in Revelation. For the sake of enough righteous people in Christ I have no doubt God would assign some to keep weather disasters from doing too much harm over a large area. My wife and I had such mercy upon praying and speaking the word against a huge tornado entering our property. But I doubt most Christians know to do that. I would not be surprised to learn in glory about some angels have been sitting on and controlling Yellowstone National Park, where if left to nature could erupt and destroy most of the U.S. and cause much harm from ash and thick clouds blocking the sun around the northern hemisphere. If the nation turned like Sodom did there would be little or no justification for God not to call those angels back. For now it feels evident to me that there are armies of angels holding off disaster while God's hand is still on us.

Keep your living holy as you know to do, not offending an angel sent to minister to you on special assignment. Meanwhile, keep listening for instructions from the Lord as to where and what to do if famine comes. Like Elijah was told to go to a particular spot at a certain creek and there have good water and be fed by friendly birds, be open to being directed to something like that. I own a remote wooded property with a good spring with running creek with fish, wildlife, edible acorns, plentiful mushrooms and edible tree conks, herbs and berries, some old orchard trees, a big root cellar, huge firewood supply. It's our homestead exemption location, so no taxes would be due. Such properties are still available at bargain prices. From there we could venture out to minister the gospel to a dying world. I might bring you a sack of acorn flour! Meanwhile, we love having the hand of God favorably on us, while watching many lose that. The solution is on person at a time getting right, one marriage at a time getting right, on and on. God definitely prefers that the nation repents rather than defy Him into a situation famine and death. We haven't seen that yet, right? It need not come to that. Pray for revival of the Church, for the sake of the gospel reaching everyone. In doing so, be sure each of us shows blessings enough to demonstrate there's a worthy difference to pursue God's Kingdom instead of soft slavery (welfare).

Luke 13:1-3
1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

just substitute 'Galilaeans' with Californians and where does that leave the other 49?

All those things are bad enough, but factor in punishments etc for meddling with ISrael and things look rather bleak.

Boy, Crossnote must feel very attacked in this thread. Perhaps this dry spell indicates a dry spell from God?

I have cousins and an aunt in CA who love Jesus and serve him with all their hearts. It seems unlikely God is punishing them, just because they are in the same state as those who are not serving God. Because, God is not worshipped in every state in the US, and every province and territory in Canada. Despite what the right wing media says about CA, God is at work in his church everywhere, and he is wanting everyone to come to a knowledge of the truth.

Instead of handing out judgment and condemnation, we need to pray that the light of the gospel will come to CA in the form of a revival or awakening. And if the dry weather makes people get on their knees, all the better!

Couple points to ponder...

1. God can be very specific in his aim when it comes to judging and can deal with
a. Individuals within a family or the whole family
b. Individual cities within a nation of kingdom
c. Individual states within a nation

2. My over all statement is directed at the nation as a whole and lest we forget California is known for immorality, drug use, liberalism, porno producers, the promotion of homosexual lifestyles...

3. YES there are decent Christian people and churches in the state of California.

4. God uses drought as a punitive judgment through out the bible

5. Innocent people have been affected by God's righteous judgments upon wickedness as seen in (DANIIEL and his three buddies) righteous, faithful and yet IMPACTED by God's judgment upon JUDAH!

My points stand and were not judgmental and or condemnatory...just facts and a possible reality!

God has already passed judgment on the world and has concluded all under sin.
God has shown his displeasure of sin through pouring out His wrath on His innocent Son.
Many States that appear righteous are full of self righteous pride, religion and dead men's bones.

Actually, you are taking a lot of Old Testament examples (I assume, since you don't quote any!) and applying them to the New Covenant. I don't find any judgments in the New Testament for specific people groups or countries, other than for the Jews that rejected Jesus, and of course the examples in Revelation 2 & 3, which were probably symbolic of churches in any time in the future, and warnings of things which God wanted to change, not the actual act of judgement.

Show me in the NT where God uses a drought to punish people.

The New Testament the covenant of redemption, with the end of all evil and rejecting Christ being eternity apart from God. As NT believers, I believe you are juxtaposing what God did in the OT Testament with the NT. Jesus is what the NT is about, and how he has redeemed us from the curse of sin and death.
