I disagree. I am all for the death penalty, but they also need time to repent and accept Jesus Christ.
You're right; six months wait time is feasible, however, if you're not going to repent knowing within six months you'll being swinging at the end of a rope, then it may be pretty safe to say you're not going to repent regardless of time spent in lockdown.

I thought they only did that in Texas. In Alabama they have been slowing down.
Virginia is only second to Texas in the number of executions. Virginia may actually execute at a higher rate if you figure Texas has 7 times the population.

Bingo. Virginia is the toughest state on capital crime.

It's one of the toughest states on crime in general.

As for Roof. No shocker. He deserves what he is getting, too.

When push comes to shove, even if Dylan Roof is given the death penalty the odds are in his favor of living a long life behind bars. Of 74 persons that Federal juries have given the death penalty since 1988, only three have actually been executed.

If he gets life, other people might feel emboldened to do the same, especially since he wants to be the lawyer defending himself.

At 22 years of age, it would be hard pressed for him to be executed any time before he's 30.

Imagine for a moment how long he would last if he were tossed into the general population.
