FBI admits forensic evidence errors in hundreds of cases - BBC News

The FBI has admitted "errors" in evidence provided by its forensics laboratory to US courts to help secure convictions, including in death penalty cases, over more than 20 years.
A report by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) noted "irregularities" in the hair analysis unit.

Uniformly, the errors in analyzing hair samples favored the prosecution. I'm beginning to wonder about the accuracy of DNA testing. There may be far more similarity than difference in the human genome. Perhaps it will go the way of profiling -- that is, "of little psycho-forensic use."

Probably not, though. Too many people invested in its alleged "accuracy."

mostly the forensic evidence is what the prosecution try a court case on. unless they are caught read handed or admit to the crime. yet the police or fbi, its conviction and results that make them look good at there job. yet in this case 20 year is a long time, for someone to continue in wrong evidence ,so if someone in there chain of results, has missed or done a bad job. it makes them all look bad. the birth of the computer made dna testing faster, with finger prints on computer again faster results, unlike 10- 20 years ago, when we would ask what is dna lol.
but 20 years of bad results, makes it look like the law breaker is being set up, for a crime he did not do.
the plot continues.
