Why is it a given that anyone who is Christian will be a republican?

Generally speaking because if one reads the Democrats Platform voted on during their christenings of their next candidate, one can easily conclude that it would be nigh impossible for a Christian to support their agenda..........

Now, personally, I don't believe the Repubs are much better.......just differing in a couple of areas is all........

In my opinion, a Christian should remain Independent and investigate any person running for any office before voting for them, and not vote according to a candidate's Political Party.

Again, it shows though that she isn't an unbeatable juggernaut. The proverbial goddess can bleed.

For over a century the Constitution served as a decent framework for government in that it took into account human frailties. It was not perfect, of course. It needed augmentation. The fact the country is the way it is now is hardly the Constitution's fault.

Again, non-adherence to something that works does not mean the thing itself is the problem or fit to be toilet paper. Athens did not follow Solon's laws. Are they toilet paper? Rome eventually transitioned from a Republic to an Empire. Were Roman Laws all trash? The last I had heard, Mesopotamia no longer follows Hamurabi's Code? I guess we can deface that too. How about Leviticus, Deuteronomy, and Numbers? Those are old legal codes too. The Magna Carta? The Justinian Code? Dale's Laws?

All of these are fit to be studied in their context for a multitude of reasons. Among them is that we learn about human nature. In the grand scheme of things the United States Constitution is a recent development, but it is one of the most recent and rich pieces of a generation doing its best to put timeless truths into action.

One of the truths that generation realized is that in order for a system to exist, there must be civic virtue and a moral character. To quote John Adams.

We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.

There are realities that make our current Constitution obsolete, but I would wait for a less brigandish generation to arise to fix those problems...if one of those comes.

In the end though, I actually hope you are right. I sincerely hope that God himself takes away the need for men to go about the strenuous and nigh on impossible task of furnishing systems that respect the Rule of God's Law that will be less apt to follow the Rule of Men.

Until that time though, we cannot abandon that duty. The United States Constitution is an invaluable tool in that endeavor. Not perfect, but good enough.
In regards to Hillary, aye indeed she is not unbeatable, in that we do agree. Hillary can be beat, just not by anyone the GOP is currently promoting.

In regards to the US Constitution I have not said it is fit to be toilet paper. Rather that toilet paper is worth more than the US Constitution (at least toilet paper can deal with crap so-to-say.)

It is fair to study the US Constitution as with any of the other failed law codes. For by studying the law systems it is clear how they are vanity. By studying the history of each nation that adopts them one can see how history does testify against them. We can indeed see how worthless they were, almost even in a very poetic fashion.

The US Constitution is not invaluable, rather it is unvaluable. For if even the US government does not adhere to the very document that outlines the set up of the US government, then it has basically no purpose. This is nothing to fret over though, for indeed the private citizen has never had need of the US Constitution.

I do agree that if there were a less brigandish generation in the future indeed any of the fantasy-based law codes could be worked out. As reality stands though the generations are getting worse one after the other.

This a good discussion though, I like talking to you Desdi. Let us leave the US Constitution and Theory of Law though for another topic since I do perceive the both of us could go on that for a while, and we will return to keen analysis of 2016 elections.

uh, as opposed to the experience our current guy had when he first ran? Hillary couldn't beat him...............
Obama had political experience when he ran. Let Ben Carson go get him a state-level political job ,or if he can manage it, a US Senate seat. From there Carson could run a formidable future campaign if Obama is any indicator.

For level of President or even VP you must have political experience.
Rubbish.

Especially in this time of turbulence foreign policy experience is going to be a premium. That's just political reality in America.
It is a "political reality" because people like you keep looking to professional politicians for answers they don't have. The founders never envisioned any such hybrid animal as the "professional politician." They envisioned bankers, businessmen, farmers, even pastors and lawyers, taking a public responsibility to help guide and direct the nation. "Professional politicians" only became reality due to greed, power-hunger, and ego.

It is time to stop electing people who want the job. Let's elect someone who is somewhat reluctant to think so highly of themselves that they believe they have all the answers, or know other professional politicians who do and can be appointed to administrative posts. Government has gotten far too big. It must be cut back. Socioeconomic programs need to be turned over to the states for administration, bureaucracy severely curtailed, and businessmen who know the value of a dollar put in charge of them.

There is no reason the Social Security Administration, for example, should spend 60% of it's intake on administrative costs. Public-social programs should be put on the same operating basis as charities -- 90% of the funds go toward meeting the needs of those it serves, or it should immediately be reorganized.

Especially so given that you must run someone against Hillary who is by far extremely experienced, moreso than any other candidate regardless of party. On top of that, supposing Ben Carson did get the nomination, he could not stand up to Hillary in a debate.
This is just absurd. You seem to think the majority of people want and like politicians. The reality is, they hate them -- just look at public opinion polls. But since politicians are all that ever run, that's all that ever get elected. It is time for average, normal, everyday people to step up and be what the founders intended them to be -- self-governing. Campaigns need to be overhauled, curtailed, and spending limited, so the necessary message is louder than the hype, hyperbole, and outright lies.

If I had my way, no candidate could announce or even organize before May 1. We'd have national primaries in June, a runoff in July to assure someone with a majority is nominated, the general election in November as we do now, and if minority parties siphon off votes, we'd have another runoff in late November. Six months of campaigning is still too much, but it's better than three and a half years. Heck, on election night in November 2012, after it was obvious the electorate had stupidly returned Obama to office, the talking heads all started speculating about 2016! How stupid is that?!?!

Of the list given here the only people that even stand a chance are Kasich, Bush, Paul, Walker, and Jindal.
As long as we think like that, you're right. But we've already limited our choices by making such a silly claim. There are lot more qualified people out there, most more qualified than any of them. But we've just eliminated them from consideration because they aren't politicians! That's also utterly stupid. We need to stop limiting our choices and return government to the people, as it was intended.

So in a bunch of words you have pretty much confirmed what I told you is right.

For your personal knowledge, I have not, nor will I, vote for either a Democrat or Republican for president in the general election. Just laying out to you the political reality.

If most the people hate the politicians they would not vote for them. As it stands though they will vote for them indeed and they will get just what they do deserve, and even you know they will. Therefore, there is nothing else to be said.

Pfft! You spend three paragraphs pointing out how four politicians are the best and only choices we have, and then claim I confirmed what you said?? Please don't be offended as I scoff aloud at that thought.

Well first off who is we? If "We" is America, I never said they are the best choices for America. I said they're the only choices on the list given in the OP that can even stand a chance to Hillary. And even then I do think Hillary would beat them and told you why. Scoff all you want oh scoffer, I am not offended.

I am nominating myself for president.

Here's my platform: I will balance the budget, end immigration completely, deport all the illegals, deport all the liberals (to either Liberia or a Muslim theocratic nation their choice), fix the broken economy (including ending monopoly capitalism, etc...), fix the broken trade paradigm, fix the failing domestic labor market, fix the deeply flawed liberal controlled public education system, reform legalized political corruption, reform banking corruption, reform the U.S. Treasury, restore the place of morality and holiness in America even if it means calling a conservative Constitutional Convention and impeaching every liberal politician and judge up to and including the Supreme Court and deporting them, etc... etc... etc....

I thank you for your support.

Not an unexpected reaction from one destined for Liberia or the Islamic country of his choice, under an AgeofKnowledge presidency.

I have a special place all picked out for you Nautilus. Welcome to your new home in Oymyakon, Russia. I had to give Putin back one of his Cold War era spies held at a black site since the 1980s but I think we got the better of the deal.

With temperatures below freezing from September to May, and needles known to point to -96°F, this place is lost among endless snow in the Siberian wilderness of Yakutia in a state of continuous permafrost which means it’s permanently frozen.

I know you've stated on various occasions that you drink alcohol, as one of the drugs you imbibe in, so I had them throw a case of good Russian vodka into the deal. Cheers.

Ha! That's just liberals driving another nail into their own coffin son. Enjoy the leftard decline while it lasts. Only about two decades left before the collapse starts. I've seen the future. A phoenix will rise from the ashes and there won't be anything "progressive" about it.

Lol I see. Well that's all right, Hillary will prevail over you too.
