Wow, the US is so generous, taking all the world's felons so that those poor countries do not have to continue to pay for their incarceration. Birds of a feather flock together, so once the Biden crime family were the chief puppets it signaled to the rest of the world's paranoid psychopaths that it was safe to come here.

The Bill that codifies the invasion of our border needs to be dismissed outright.

House Republicans vow to kill Senate border-Ukraine deal after text released

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/...ill-senate-border-deal-house/#google_vignette

The bill makes Mayorkas like an emperor at the same time that they are impeaching him for not doing his job.

“I’ve seen enough,” House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) wrote on X, formerly Twitter, of the legislation. “This bill is even worse than we expected, and won’t come close to ending the border catastrophe the President has created. As the lead Democrat negotiator proclaimed: Under this legislation, ‘the border never closes.’”

“If this bill reaches the House, it will be dead on arrival,” he warned.

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA), who controls which bills get scheduled for a vote on the floor, pledged on X that the supplemental “will NOT receive a vote in the House.”

Even McConnell's allies are backing away from this.

Marco Rubio said "this is a parody of what a border bill should be"

I keep seeing this come up but after going through the thread no one has said what the bill is called,,is this bill the HR2 bill?

I call it the Invasion authorization bill because it authorizes 5,000 illegals a day. Right now we have 10,000 illegals coming across every day. The minute this were passed they could claim they have cut the number of illegals in half because the first half would no longer be considered illegal. But the Senate calls it the Border Security bill. Also an accurate name because this bill does away with border security.

I guess everyone's going to see it different but it makes sense now why it's not being called by it's proper name(HR2) but here's the link for it... https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/2/text

This bill should never have seen the light of day. The only proper name for it is GARBAGE. There are already existing laws in place which are being totally ignored.

You do realize that Mario Diaz-Balart who introduced the bill(HR2) and all 21 who cosponsored it, (6 from Texas) and Mike Johnson(14th cosponsor on list) are ALL REPUBLICANS right? That's the puzzling thing to me in that they themselves wrote the bill and everyone's so carried away in the spirit of mud slinging that only a hand full notice that the "horrible bill", (garbage as you say) is being voted down by the very people who wrote it. lol https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/2/cosponsors

No it passed the House and is now in the Senate(see the "tracker" portion of the bill)... HR2 is the bill they said last year the they would not pass unless it included a border deal. So they passed a stop gap bill and then included the funding for Ukraine,Israel,Border ect. all together(HR2)...

I see.
Personally, I think bills should be per issue. So much is added that is wasteful and damaging that the morass of government just continues to grow.

Well you must know exactly why. All these people have BETRAYED their own Republican principles, the Constitution, and the country. They ought not to call themselves "Republicans". They have been catering to, pandering to, and colluding with the Democrats for too long. Yet they are not honest enough to go and join that party. They have stood by for over three years while the country has been destroyed.

No new laws and bills were necessary. All they had to do is send Biden and his gang of thugs copies of the existing laws and demand that they be obeyed. And Biden should have been impeached already in early 2021. Many colluded in the bogus impeachment of Trump. But Biden had to be protected at all costs.

Well I agree with part of what your meaning but Abbott and other states have National Guard troops here already and Trump sent 5200 troops here back in 2018 and the border is still not shut down. The issue is because of Posse Comitatus Military troops cannot bare arms against civilians and so just like in 2018 all they can do is support or manual labor unless Congress approves it i.e. HR2. So it would just end up a circular argument where we say Biden can do it with existing laws and then they point out that if that was the truth Trump would have closed it when he was in office.

However, they could have been posted to stop the hordes from entering on the basis of national security.
Notice the EXCEPTION: "The Posse Comitatus Act bars federal troops from participating in civilian law enforcement except when expressly authorized by law."
https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/posse-comitatus-act-explained?

So what was to stop the Republicans -- as a united front -- to expressly authorize the posting of troops at the border? At the same time they could have told Biden that all spending bills would be put on hold and the government would be shut down until and unless the border was shut down. They would talk about this and then do nothing.

Yep if HR2 passes the Senate then Biden signs it into law,,(he said he would),,, then it's a done deal, because it was expressly authorized by law(by Congress) and instead of saying what he is saying Trump should say,,,,"great job fellow Republicans we stood together and FORCED Biden to shut down the border"... I don't know why he's saying it's bad instead of taking credit for forcing Biden to shut it down...

The problem lies with the Senate. They want unlimited cash for Ukraine but do not care about border security or the destruction of America. Also Biden is a pathological liar, so what he said he would do is not necessarily what he will do. Unless Congress shuts down the government.
