Jailed for preaching against Islam.

Interesting. The pastor speaks in his own Church against Islam and goes to trial.Verdict on Tuesday. (video included)

Retired Pastor James McConnell is waiting to see if his next sermon will be given from a prison pulpit. His crime? On May 18, 2014, the 79-year-old pastor, speaking at the church he founded in Belfast, Ireland, preached a sermon on 1 Timothy 2:5: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
Pastor McConnell says he wrote that sermon to protest “… the terrible injustice done to a young Muslim woman named Miriam Ibrahim who was converted to Christianity and for marrying a Christian man. Miriam Ibrahim was pregnant and was to receive eighty lashes and possibly martyrdom.”
As WND previously reported, McConnell stated in part of his sermon, “Islam’s ideas about God, about humanity, about salvation are vastly different from the teaching of the Holy Scriptures. Islam is heathen. Islam is satanic. Islam is a doctrine spawned in hell.”
With that public statement, things began to go very wrong for the pastor. Northern Ireland’s Public Prosecution Service (PPS) determined that McConnell – whose sermon was streamed live on the Internet – violated the 2003 Communications Act by “sending, or causing to be sent, by means of a public electronic communications network, a message or other matter that was grossly offensive.”

It's funny how those that don't believe in the Christian God, all of a sudden terms like 'hell' and 'satanic' become meaningful.

The good ole US of A is headed toward the same thing, don't be surprised when all the kings of the earth shall be given over to this same mind set.

I remember reading a couple of years ago here in Tennessee a U.S attorney was trying to make anti Muslim speech illegal, and now we see the push is still moving that way, as it was with the gay marriage agenda. I could foresee in the future where speaking out against both these devices of the Devil will some day be considered "hate speech" here in the U.S.

Here is a couple of articles on the proposition a few years ago......

Feds suggest anti-Muslim speech can be punished - POLITICO

As my Irish grandmother would put it, "Christians are rolling over in their graves".

The main problem with Hate Speech, is who gets to define the term.

I know this pastor personally, I also posted a thread Here about it...

The judge reserved judgement until Tuesday, 5th January 2016 (see Here), so McConnell will hear then if he goes to jail or not.

I very much doubt he will though...

I hope he is acquitted of these charges. For one thing, he is right about Sharia law. For another thing, he was preaching a message that he tied to a definite verse in the Bible, one which Islam denies totally.

If he is convicted, this is the beginning of the end for the Commonwealth.

"If there are Muslims out there, I want to assure them I love them and, if they need help, I am there to help them, but their theology and their beliefs I am totally against them."

I'm not sure how well statements like this goes over with a conscientious Muslim.
Even as a Christian, if someone said 'I love you but your beliefs is what I hate', ...I just find it hard to separate the two.
If it were possible to take away my beliefs from 'inside me', there wouldn't be much left worthwhile. :p

I can understand that........but as Christians, this is what we are instructed to do..........Love our enemies, hate the sin, not the sinner........if being a Christian was easy.............well........
