Oh no, here comes a commie...
Actually, I could be wrong, but I thought the post was sarcastic? Satire in nature? I hear the Brits live on sarcasm - lol doesn't bode well in the USA... most people here don't understand satire... many tend to think clever insults are satire. LOL

So, I'm guessing to quantify this assertion, they autopsied aborted children from both wealthy and poor mothers and measured and weighed their brains to come to this conclusion?
you lost me ,with your quote.

In what is claimed to be the biggest study of its kind, scientists from the University of Southern California tested 1,099 typically developing people - male and female - aged between three and 20.
They measured brain surface area by scans and conducted cognitive tests, and then compared the results with the income levels of the parents.

The study is flawed. There's not many families that were poorer than mine when we grew up. All of us earned at least a BS/BA and have had very successful careers. We are also still devoted active Christians today. Many of our rich contemporaries are either dead or living pay check to pay check.

Modern children are different. For example, in the low income community that I live in statistics show that 60% of babies are born addicted to drugs. This is of course going to affect brain development. Families are broken and unstable, neighborhoods are chaotic, drug and alcohol use are rampant, kids go to bed hungry because mom is either too busy with drugs or with her newest revolving door boyfriend to bother to properly look after her children so malnutrition becomes a problem, etc, etc.Things like stress can affect brain development in kids and these kids have incredibly stressful, unstable lives.

My dad is around your age and he also grew up dirt poor but he had a stable, loving two parent home of good sober hardworking Christian folk. Times were lean but they always managed to scrape together enough food so nobody went to bed too hungry. These type of families are virtually nonexistent in today's world.

ie everyone has to eat.

what parents are tall , short, middle height, etc

connecting dots, to form a pie chart. scientists answer to proof.

My dad was an alcoholic who spent everything on booze and his next best idea. My mother was a devout Christian women. Through her hard work, we grew up with enough to eat, a bed to sleep in, and a Christian work ethic. I see the same in a few poor families today. Unfortunately, we have let hand outs, not hand ups, ruin hard working Christian families. Instead of studying the size of poor children's brain, maybe we should study those who manage to escape the world of the poor. There are some interesting factors behind their escape. I'll assure that the government had nothing to do with it.

I want hard core evidence.................FILM AT 10! I wanna see the brains laid out on a table and being measured and weighed..........otherwise it's just bunk!

I came from as poor a poor background as one can and I know for a fact that my brain is at least 2.3 centimeters and 1 and 1/2 ounce larger than Einstein's.................so, to this report, I say BUNK!
