It was terribly sad to read the headline in the local Northern Ireland newspaper, the Newsletter, a quote from Mr Nesbitt, the leader of the second biggest loyalist parliamentary party stating that in the light of the decision in the Irish Republic to legalise gay marriage, "Northern Ireland public policy is now in danger of being dictated by fundamentalist religious beliefs."
well I'm sorry Mr Nesbitt but perhaps you should pause a wee moment and reflect. The laws of the land that that you so cherish ( and rightly so) such as its wrong to murder, its wrong to steal, equality of rights for all, all find their basis in the Judeo Christian laws that he now seems to want to refer to as "fundamentalist"
it is so sad, but no surprise, that our legislators are picking and choosing which of God's laws they want to in an attempt to set aside right and wrong for popularity and votes. Mr Nesbitt should read 2 Timothy1-17... Vs 2 " people will love themselves. They will love money. They will talk about themselves and be proud. They will say wrong things about people.
they will not obey their parents. They will not be thankful. they will not keep anything holy3 They will have no love. They will not agree with anybody. They will tell lies about people. They will have no self-control. They will beat people. they will not love anything that is good.4 They cannot be trusted. They will act quickly without thinking. They are proud of themselves. They love to have fun more than they love God.......
the wisdom of man is but the foolishness of God
