Trump lied ...

Trump vs. Bush on Florida casinos: Who’s telling the truth?

Donald Trump outright denied Jeb Bush's charge Wednesday night that the billionaire businessman-turned-presidential candidate gave Bush money as he sought casino gambling in Florida nearly two decades ago.

But while public financial records don't appear to show a direct contribution to Bush's campaign -- Trump's denial leaves out a lot of details that back up Bush's claim that the real estate magnate attempted to gain a foothold in the push to bring casinos to Florida.

Indeed, the real estate magnate hosted a pricey fundraiser in 1997 for then-gubernatorial candidate Bush -- and his company contributed a bundle to the state GOP -- all while Trump, according to local reports, was teaming up with the Seminole tribe to push for casino gambling in the Sunshine State.
The issue isn't whether Trump tried to get his way by offering money to Bush's campaign. That's not what Trump denied. He denied wanting casino gambling in Florida, and that denial is a lie. He apparently learns politics, at least, very quickly.

He also tried to have it both ways on children's vaccines, saying he "favored them" but thought they ought to be given over longer periods of time in smaller dosages to "avoid the potential for autism."

TRUMP: "I'm in favor of vaccines, do them over a longer period of time, same amount, but just in little sections and I think you're going to see a big impact on autism."

THE FACTS: Medical researchers have debunked claims that vaccines given to children can lead to autism and developmental disorders. The Institute of Medicine, part of the National Academy of Sciences, says vaccines are not free from adverse effects, "but most are very rare or very mild." A study that drew a connection between autism and vaccines was retracted in 2010.
He even tried to correct Doctor Ben Carson on those facts when Ben challenged his paranoia.

The guy's a doofus. You really want such a fake-haired, hair-brained fool in the White House? I mean, another one?

One of the best Commanding Officers that I served for was a five year Vietnam POW. This man was soft spoken, very intelligent, and had a grasp of the situation regardless of the environment. He brought out the best in everyone. This is my standard, and I have yet to see this in any of the candidates. Dr Carson comes close, but I feel that he lacks leadership ability. I feel that it's time for the bottom third of the pack to drop out now. I'd also like to see Bush and Trump drop out.

I think in part, many of us feel we have gone past the old process of picking a guy based on this or that...this is in large part about the conservative folks taking back power from the establishment clowns...if Trump has to be that guy that makes the point ...then so be it...but I and many others are just sick of the establishment folks in both parties.... I don't care how bad Trump is...he could never be worse than the folks that claim to represent us now. I rather not vote for him...but the way I see it, at this point...I may have to?

Yep. I thought that debate was the one where Carson would show his leadership. I didn't expect him to get involved in all the name-calling. I wasn't disappointed. I did expect him to take a strong stance on his own personal beliefs. I thought he'd have a strategy and let some of that show. I thought he would show that he could be a leader. He didn't and that is disappointing.

What makes me think is this. Does he know that it doesn't matter what he wants, he is still going to have to go through Congress to get it, and so he isn't going to promise anything, because he knows the president's hands are tied? A sort of, "maybe he knows something we all should, but don't want to accept or believe"? Time will tell. I hope more drop out, but I don't think many will.

Have watched the debate twice, listening to it again. Lol frankly I think Carson did not do well at all, really showed his lack of experience and knowledge on policy. Seemed weak as well on the defense. Carson is a dodger. I think he is well enough though by comparison to the others to make it to the next debate. Lol the political-nerd playoffs. Carson's on third down, he gained no yards on this play. Though he's not alone, this seems the case with most the candidates.

Rubio I think did best, I'm thinking he won the debate overall, he got a first down for sure. I hear all this noise about Fiorina, and she did well enough to stay on the field, but you can see her flaws easily as the debate goes on. She herself described this with her very first answer when pitted against Trump. 2nd down for her, but she is in good position to push forward. Huckabee I think proved himself very strong, I liked much of what he said but alas he did not get much time. I'd say first down for him though, definitely showed interest in wanting to see a bit more of him in the 3rd debate.

As for the other candidates, none of them did bad per se, but they're all on 3rd or 4th down. They got make a big play or punt soon.

You dont like Carson because of some thinly reasoned hatred towards practices he did back when he was a neurosurgeon so I don't really take your opinion on him into account. Huckabee is exactly the kind of person we don't need in the white house. Last thing I want is some fundamentalist running things. Rubio looked the best last night though. Fiorina is just crazy.

You don't like Huckabee because he is a Christian.........bigot. Lol And you don't like Carly cuz you hate women and think they should be doing your laundry, having your kids and cooking your meals while you yell at them for being stupid......oh....and you like Carson because he is black and you hate white people because you identify as a black person.

Just keeping it real. He didn't do horrendously, but he definitely showed weakness or at least the kinda demeanor of a novice, and I am not the only one to have noticed. The media spotted it as well, but I suppose to fairness to him they did try to get at him. In which case he held okay, dodging and weaving like I said. He gained like a yard or two, 3rd down. Will he pass it, will he run it?

You do bring up a good point indeed. I was very disappointed Carson was again not questioned on his background in the abortion system. Do you seriously think the Democrats won't use that as primetime fodder if they had to run against him? Might as well get it out of the way right now in the context and audience of a Republican/conservative audience.

Perhaps Carson's experiences are what turned him off to the abortion stuff, as hinted when he said he was once a democrat and how he became a republican. Which I thought that was actually his highest and strongest remark of the debate. Can't say though, his last remarks on his involvement in the abortion system is "it be foolish not to". I'll give him a chance to try to clarify himself, but if that's his last word on the issue, sorry, can't support the guy at all. Especially when I am leery of him to begin with for his lack of political record and ideas by comparison to much stronger candidates.

i am liking carson more and more lately...

i am still uneasy about his lack of experience in holding any political office in which you are answerable to the voters and hounded and undermined by the media and by political opponents...

but i was originally uneasy also about him being -too- humble and soft spoken with an almost pacifistic campaign style and what could be taken as a lack of confidence...however after seeing the exact opposite in the form of trump...i am now more inclined to see some of those qualities carson lacks in a more negative light anyway...

Looks like the establishment folks are trying to crown Fiorina as the new front-runner for some reason? Watching the Kelly file with loaded with a anti -Trump panel...... these guys really think they tell us what we think.

Yes except that GiS has repeatedly knocked Ben Carsom because he used the remains of aborted fetuses to conduct studies into I would guess stem cells. Which I mean at least the remains are being put towards something productive.

I have no problems with Christians but Huckabee is the fundamental type I wouldnt want in charge of a country. Maybe a nice mainline protestant, but not an evangelical, thank you.

Fiorina answers sounded more like rants and her foreign policy ideas especially when dealing with the middle east were less diplomatic than any of the other answers I heard. She would push us into another Cold War with Russia if she got her way.

As for Carson well I'm not black nor do I identify as black, but I do like someone who keeps his cool and doesnt spend their entire time on the debate like they are auditioning for a reality tv show.

Maybe we could start putting "the remains" in salads and send them to starving children in Africa.....that's productive isn't it.....feeding starving children?

How about we just get Carson to answer for this instead of having his last word on it be to callously say "it be foolish not to". That might be an acceptable answer to Democrats. How though can the supposed pro-life party accept that as his final answer on the issue?
