All passengers had signed a waiver which states that structural failure of the vessel could result in death
However, safety protocols were ignored. Experts had warned that the reason you don't build submarines out of carbon fiber is because it's just not structurally sound at those depths. Plus, they took it like twice as deep as it was intended to go
So what happens is every time you submerge, the carbon fiber is becoming less structurally sound until it eventually collapses which is exactly what happened
Some are saying that when a submarine implodes, it ignites hydrocarbon gases which would have been cinerated them immediately. If this didn't happen, imagine putting five mice in a soda can and running over it with a tank. Either way, there will be no bodies to recover
I imagine this company is done. Do you think there will be criminal charges pending for negligence?

He ignored safety procedures and didn't let "old white people " I believe they were in their 50s ex navy work on it. Sounds like a hate crime as well.

He was in it though. So... not sure what can be done. Feel so bad for the 19 year old. He was scared to death but went for a father's day present. 250,000 dollars each person I believe.

I don't watch the lying media so here are a couple legit sources.

This thing was the definition of a death trap. The passengers are bolted in from the outside so if there happens to be an electrical fire on board, it won't do any good the surface because you can't get out
There was one guy who had purchased his ticket and demanded his money back when he actually saw the thing. That decision saved his life

Very sad news. But they were going to see what was in essence a mass grave, somewhat ghoulish. In a few years people will pay to ride in another submarine to see where the submarine sank.

The days of holding criminals accountable for their crimes are over. So there will be no criminal charges. Unless you are a Christian or a conservative. Then that in itself is a crime.

don't know about that one.

they all signed agreements that stated the risk of death was involved in doing the dive.

I have been asking that question a lot for the last year, not about this accident but about the vaccine. Because just like this accident, if you take an experimental vaccine you also gave them a waiver concerning liability.

I agree but do not forget the family of the billionaire who died will probably sue if they learn there are juicy scraps left in this company's coffers, or perhaps sue the governemant of canada for which the sub was registered to, they always want more!

I am sure someone will, but they won't win, this sub should have never been allowed to go in the first place! BUT!! What you will find out later Dude is that this company paid off many companies to go out in the first place. NO ONE with any common sense will have gone out in the first place!! There should have been tests without people to make sure, but the way it was built I knew right off the bat as I served on a sub that it had imploded, and why did the Navy make them search for 5 days when they knew right off the bat as I did that it had imploded??? Now that could be investigated. And if they have a case, it would be against the Navy! They paid 250 thousand dollars a piece to die at sea, pretty expensive. pay out to be that stupid!! I cannot feel sorry for them because each person who did that had to have no common sense!!

Oh stop with the victim mentality. Ask us minorities if we feel our people ever feel we get deserved justice compared to others with privilege.

Waivers don't actually waive rights. They exist to prove the person was informed of what they're doing and what risks they're taking which, shifts responsibility onto the signer. Despite what it may say, waivers don't cover negligence on the part of the facility/company/whatever.
