"The Secret of Spiritual Consistency"

God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ… —Galatians 6:14

When a person is newly born again, he seems inconsistent due to his unrelated emotions and the state of the external things or circumstances in his life. The apostle Paul had a strong and steady underlying consistency in his life. Consequently, he could let his external life change without internal distress because he was rooted and grounded in God.

Most of us are not consistent spiritually because we are more concerned about being consistent externally. In the external expression of things, Paul lived in the basement, while his critics lived on the upper level. And these two levels do not begin to touch each other. But Paul’s consistency was down deep in the fundamentals. The great basis of his consistency was the agony of God in the redemption of the world, namely, the Cross of Christ.

State your beliefs to yourself again. Get back to the foundation of the Cross of Christ, doing away with any belief not based on it. In secular history the Cross is an infinitesimally small thing, but from the biblical perspective it is of more importance than all the empires of the world.

If we get away from dwelling on the tragedy of God on the Cross in our preaching, our preaching produces nothing. It will not transmit the energy of God to man; it may be interesting, but it will have no power. However, when we preach the Cross, the energy of God is released. “…it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.…we preach Christ crucified…” (1 Corinthians 1:21, 23).

Funny, I dont trust the Turks for a nano second.
Choosing sides in a potential war between Putin's Russia and Erdogan's Turkey is like choosing sides in a fight between your drunk, redneck cousin and your drunk, redneck uncle.

There is no choice Desdichado for as long as America or Turkey is part of NATO. It has been known and declared beforehand, even by us CC Newshounds about the powder keg that Syria presents. This incident makes that obvious. It is a small blow to the pride maybe, but it be better for America to back off. All that is gained in these wars is death and destruction for everyone that gets involved, and sorry for the doom and gloom but that's the truth of it.

Praise Jesus that the Russians will downplay the incident this time and we'll avert WW3 taking another fell turn for the far worse, but let us not push it. Learn from Russia's mistake by entering so hot and puffed up into this war. Their great power and authority is torn from the sky. One pilot is dies, and one is saved alive. It is no good for Russia, they ought back off some too, but I suppose with how little America listens, Russia listens even less.

Area in Syria Russia was bombing is infested with Al Queda that Turkey supports. Turkey doesn't want the border sealed so that it can continue the war in Syria through its proxies (ISIS, etc).

Turkey gets 60% of its natural gas from Russia. Lot of Russian tourism there. Russia could cripple Turkey economically.
This is not the first time that Russian aircraft have violated Turkeys airspace. The idea that ISIS is Turkeys proxy is ridiculous. As Turkey is a member of NATO that would mean that NATO is busy bombing its own allies in Syria

Russia bombards Syrian rebels near site of downed Russian jet

ADAGI, Turkey (Reuters) - Russian forces launched a heavy bombardment against insurgent-held areas in Syria's Latakia province on Wednesday, near where a Russian warplane had been shot down by Turkey the day before, rebels and a monitoring group said.

At least 12 air strikes hit Latakia's northern countryside as pro-government forces clashed with fighters from al Qaeda's Nusra Front and Turkmen insurgents in the Jabal Akrad and Jabal Turkman areas, the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

A Turkmen commander said missiles fired from Russian warships in the Mediterranean were also hitting the area, as well as heavy artillery shelling.

Hassan Haj Ali, the head of Liwa Suqour al-Jabal, a rebel group operating in western Syria, also said there were fierce battles in the area, with Russian aircraft supporting pro-government forces.

Aye glad the one was saved, for that praise Jesus indeed, and may the man quietly escape the war. Sad one had to die though for such petty reasons. Why should any more Russians or Americans die in this war? The war in Syria is no good for anyone, even all the sides fighting therein.

In a move raising the potential threat of a Russia-NATO conflict, Russia says it will deploy long-range air defense missiles to its base in Syria and destroy any target that may threaten its warplanes following the downing of a Russian military jet by Turkey.

The incident, the first time in half a century a NATO member shot down a Russian plane, may put Moscow and the alliance on the verge of a direct conflict. If Russia shoots down a Turkish plane, Turkey, a NATO member, could proclaim itself under attack and ask the alliance for military assistance.

'Turkey gave no warning' - downed Russian pilot - BBC News

The Jerusalem Post

MOSCOW - The surviving crew member of a Russian fighter jet shot down by Turkey said on Wednesday the plane received no warnings from the Turkish Air Force and did not fly over Turkish air space, Russian news agencies reported.

Turkish fighter jets shot down a Russian warplane near the Syrian border after repeated warnings, reportedly a total of 10, over air space violations before shooting the plane down.

Moscow said it could prove the jet had not left Syrian air space.

Yes, this thing is totally going beserk. And I don't know why we are supporting jihadists trying to overthrow Assad seeing both sides are barbaric anyways...except we perhaps have one in the WH.

War is good for the bottom line. Especially when the bottom line is below the bottom...lol. It also has a way of thinning the herd as well....and the herd has reached unmanageable proportions.
