Israel has a large store of chemical weapons, A top United Nations charged Wednesday.

A report on Israel Radio quoted the official as saying that the UN needed to begin an investigation of Israel on its chemical weapons stores, as it did with Syria.

The anonymous official said he was unable to specify important what kinds of weapons or how much of them were in Israel's possession. However, he said they were “substantial.”

Israel has been accused for decades of having chemical weapons (CW).

Nothing will come from this. This has been going on since 1982. Some countries are held to account for what they do. Not Israel thus, with no controls in place, they have spiralled out of control in the war crimes they perform. They have reached a point now, with the world opinion against them, that they need to pay university students to circulate pro israeli information. Some may have made their way to this site from some of the cold hearted posts I see.

The "anonymous" UN investigator obviously is very ignorant if he thinks that Israel and North Korea are the only two countries with large stockpiles of chemical weapons.

The anonymous UN official suggested that Israel willingly destroy its weapons, since they are unlikely to be used anyway, arguing that it places Israel in the same category as North Korea, the only other country in the world with known stocks of chemical weapons.

All it takes is a few minutes on Wiki to know that the US has huge stockpiles of chemical weapons also albeit the US is actively destroying their stockpile.

All it takes is a few minutes on Wiki to know that the US has huge stockpiles of chemical weapons also albeit the US is actively destroying their stockpile.

the big giveaway of anti semites is that they constantly hold one particular country to standards they don't require of any other nation...and then they expect us to believe that it is just a coincidence that this particular state happens to be jewish...

Seems like another intelligence community rumor morphed into a news story. It isn't outside the realm of possibility that Israel would have such a stockpile, but it would be silly to put the country in the same category as NK or Syria. One being an unstable Communist regime and the other essentially a non-state.

The silly and hypocritical nature of treaties aside, it would be in Israel's best interest to dismantle whatever they have (if they have a "stockpile") so as not to give the world another reason to criticize.

Antisemitism isn't the same as anti-genocide. The very reason the US are destroying their chemical weapons is because it would be insane to hold other countries to higher standards than they hold themselves (though, they are, like most countries, guilty of it) and because people like Drett would be the first citizens to say ''get rid of these weapons, they're in humane''. If the US is already destroying their stockpile, then perhaps we can move on to asking other countries to do likewise.

I don't remember Hamas having any chemical weapons. As far as I'm aware, most Palestinians can't get enough clean water, nevermind the means to smuggle CX to make bombs from.

Hamas has benefactors in Syria so if the Syrians want to get some dirty work done they would be more than happy to leave the door open to a stockpile of chemical weapons for Hamas.. You know that.
