well when was the last time you saw one? it's not an everyday current event. so I guess because of that, it become part of the rare factor of things.
i saw one about 20 years ago. however, with todays knowledge, i was instructed by my co workers, what i was looking at.
with bible knowledge, of around 0-100 ad. so seeing this around that time frame, so how could people at that time, describe something they dont know or have any proof ,to what they are looking at. without knowledge of 2000 century.

that could also go though out the old and new testament to what or how they saw these things in the sky at night etc. or day.

Eclipses are actually fairly common. I think they happen about every 18 months, or so. Just like airplanes cast shadows, and every now and then you will notice one, so the moon casts a shadow on the Earth quite often. But the exact place the shadow of the moon hits the Earth, and the size of that shadow varies. Eclipse chasers travel all around, and experience these common occurrences all the time.
