David French released this shocker in National Review earlier this morning.
National Review
It's hard to summarize it and give it due credit. Suffice to say, a Wisconsin family awoke to find a Centuria of local police officers and non-uniformed investigators in their house.
The reasons for the raid were not given. Her and her family were refused access to their coffee and shouted down by a useful idiot as though they were actual criminals. Their only "crime" was being involved with Wisconsin's act 10 and campaign activities with Scott Walker.
This is all according to David French, who I have found to be a pretty reliable source.
A few reasons to be semi skeptical though:
1. Only David French is covering it. All other online sources appear to refer to David French, so he is breaking it open. I hope other reports come out.
2. The person who had their rights infringed upon has not come forward. According to the article, they refuse to do so for fear of being arrested or something of that nature. I find it plausible but not enough to prove guilt (of the government) beyond a reasonable doubt.
3. While I strongly doubt the activist is a criminal otherwise, it is possible (however unlikely) that they were involved in criminal activity. Again, this is something I strongly doubt and David French is an attorney who would, I hope, be careful enough with the facts so as not to give off an impression of innocence if they were not innocent.
It is interesting to note though that this alleged raid was not a federal operation, but pulled off by a locality that wanted to keep it, should we say, in the locality. I find this even more disheartening as these are the people who exist to protect locals from this sort of treatment and uphold the law.
I, for one, home Wisconsin's Attorney General moves in on this. The Feds would just do the typical totalitarian "raid? what raid?" kind of propaganda at this point.
The lesson for people who have cared enough to read this far is this: all politics is local. Hold THEM ALL accountable, and stay abreast of local issues rather than hyper-focus on federal ones. Our nation will rot to its core if we allow any sort of Stasi-like apparatus to exist.
