Your stars are still shining
in the middle of a deep blue sea
while my eyes are drowning
in the vast Mississipi River
forgetting nationalities and flags
to realize water is water
no matter the geography or the region

America, all I have is silence for you
as a foreigner from distant lands
i can't say anything at all
The eyes of your people are so different now
and their sorrows so palpable now
when I talk to them
when I see them

America, your stars are still shining
and your spangled banner is still echoing
the names of those Christians
who gave their lives for the Gospel
in far away lands and regions

My feet are getting wet
and the waters of this wild river
are taking me out of here
You were a lighthouse for dark hearts
but now your light is weak and pale

America, many eyes are watching you
you became the spotlight of a huge crowd
Many harsh times happened to you
and many hard and bitter moments you lived
despite the millions of fingers
and thousands of words that came to you
God still has the last verdict

America, your stars are still shining
and the voice of God is still the same
Riches may be over
and the great life may be vanishing
but God is still the same
