Falling and drifting, I hide in my shame,
never once thinking to call out your name
Your arms are wide open, but I turn them away
the pain hides your mercy, my heart quickly strays.

I cling to my heartache, pushing others away
not listening for your voice, nor willing to pray
I hide in the darkness, afraid and alone
but you do not leave me, you keep pleading "come home".

I scurry and fret in the depths of despair
wondering how you could love me, or why you should care.
Your Word's like a knife, cutting deep in my soul
but my heart has been tarnished with sin black as coal.

Just when I think I can do it alone
you remind me of Calvary, where you made me your own.
Bitter tears fall, staining my face
my breathing is shallow, my heart beats unpaced.

My Lord and my Savior please take my hand
pull me up out of the devils quicksand
I want to be yours in all that I do
but my life's such a mess I'm ashamed to face you

My precious child set my face in your view
why can't you see that in all you've been through
the cold drifting winds and the deep sinking sands
never once did I let go of your hand.

The sin you are hiding has covered your eyes
and satan is continually feeding you lies.
Trust only my words, and heed what I say
I promise you dear one, you'll be with me one day.

The battle's not over but the test has been won
cause the Shepherds lost sheep has bowed to the Son
Back in the fold, safe and secure
Please help me to never drift off anymore
