Fight the good fight of faith

Fight the good fight of fath and never give into sin
Run in the race of life by grace and press on to win
Patience endurance fortitude and courage
all come by hearing God's word
Live by the faith of Jesus who atones as our Lord.

I am aware of my great weakness, my life of sin,
But I will wrestle night and day to give up self for him
Clinging to Jesus constantly
I never will let him go by faith
Until he blesses me and changes my old name

Jacob supplanter born in sin an alien by brth
To Jesus kingdom of his grace I am a foreigner
Jesus will change his name to Israel, when self will no more rise to sin
God will prevail in victry for christ is formed within.

Ready to halt, my sins at all times I confess
I like a prodigal will rise and go in my distress.
Father I am unworthy to be
called a son but a servant only,
He will respond with grace to meet my great agony

I so needed to hear these positive, fighting words today. Thank you so much for sharing. This is beautiful, but then fighting the good fight is always beautiful, isn't it. ;)

May Jesus bless you with his comforter.

Dear daughter, fight the fight of faith
with the words of King Jesus
To break from sin, plead, struggle, pray,
trusting God's word to free us,
Our salvation took dear Jesus' life,
this price was so tremendous
Let us praise God for his mercy
and his gift of righteousness

With every power of being strive
for the victory in Jesus
And overcome the world by faith
for God's word saves and keeps us
We can overcome our sins
if we appropriate God's grace
Gain the vict'ry over self
by faith in Jesus righteousness

Now contemplate salvations cost;
see the great love of Jesus,
The love of God subdues our sinful
desires that enslave us
Jesus' love upon the cross works
in our hearts submissiveness
for our wills are taken captive
and will do his righteousness

Our mighty helper's nigh to aid
the most erring and sinful.
Behold your God! Despair no more
Be courageous and faithful!
We're assured of reaching heaven
If in christ we abide
With the shield of faith, advance with courage
in him fortified.
