The rhyme is not perfect but I hope you like it. Dedicated to all of you.

I am taking a holiday from myself, in Jesus's name.

I am sending my despairs to the hole where they came,

all the dark days in which I fleed from the fears,

From the merciless glance of my better peers.

I am taking a holiday from myself, in Jesus's heart,

Where I feel my bitter miseries are torn apart,

Turned into a much sweeter regard, a clearer thought

that soars above the silly idols that I sought.

I am taking a holiday from myself, in the Virgin Mary,

In whose sacred Mother Love I long to tarry

like a kid in a prairie, protected in her embrace

As I watch go by the bright nights and sunny days.

I am taking a holiday from myself, in Christ's Love,

That heals the path under my feet and my head above.

He makes me fly like a dove, fueled by the Holy Spirit,

My soul is full of abounding Grace, I shall not fear it.

I shall not flee from this song. My heart can hear it.

I am taking a holiday from myself, and let God heal it.

Very nice poem. :) However, Mary is dead, she does not protect anyone and JESUS is whom we should tarry in..

Nice, I used to write poems myself years ago when I was suicidal. This is a good one :) the structure, beat and rhymes are really well :)

Most people who do poetry don't do this, and are rubbish poets. But this was good, had everything needed in it to make it special and good :)

Thanks for the feedback! As a Catholic I feel reverence for the figure of the Virgin Mary and TONS of respect, but I actually don't pray to her, nor believe in her protection actually, it's a symbolic image for me. I don't pray to crosses either, I only pray in front of the Tabernacle. The power of the Tabernacle and the Blessed Sacrament I do indeed feel very strongly. Don't like sculptures of saints or Jesus or Marys as sources of veneration but I acknowledge them as an important part of devotion, and even have them in my house as decoration, a few of them.

PS: If you are against images of saints and the Virgin Mary or even Jesus you should see Lent here in Spain, you would go bananas!! :D :D :D :D :D

Thank you for caring :) It is important for me. I promise I won't do anything. Just the thoughts in my head.

Poetry helps us release the pain.. Helps us write it out of us.. Poems that are heart felt mean the most to people who have walked a similar path and felt similar feelings and experienced similar traumas.. Do you realize your poem is not just for you :) .. Your heart felt words can be a loving embrace to others who have faced the same kind of things..

It is so good to know we are not alone.. Isn't it ?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts in this very beautiful way..

And May the LORD Jesus give you an awesome Holiday..

Lots of those who read shall join in and pray..

For Him to walk with you forever and a day..

:D
