So you want to be an adult, huh?

Alright then, put on your boots and your helmet. I'll send your snot-nosed butt overseas to die for your country. No more living for yourself anymore. Freedom isn't free. If you make it through, you'll come back with scars, broken bones, missing limbs, lodged bullets, mental illness, and whatever else. In spite of all that, the government might think you still haven't done enough to earn any rewards for your "service." You may have did all that for them and you still get screwed over, and not all your own countrymen appreciates you. You get pushed around and spit on. How you would wish you were in one piece as before you turned 18.

You must pay your taxes and send it on time, or they will come for you. No more keeping your own money. It's your lovely government's money now.

If you want to drive and own an automobile, you must pay off its monthly dues including insurance. To get money, you need a good job. Go out and find one. Nothing in life is free, you know. No more free rides and no more free money. If you get put down or stepped on, who cares? "Life is how you make it," and "Age is just a number."

Come on, what's the matter? You wanted to be accepted as an adult so bad, I'm telling you as it is. Don't you see how fun it is to grow up prematurely?

Go out and vote because it's your "civil right." Even though you're not thoroughly grown up yet to decide. Never mind what the fat politicians are up to, just let yourself be forced to vote. Who's gonna hurt you if you pick the wrong person to rule over you? Why not just let society tell you who to vote for instead of making up your own mind? Your mommy and daddy will no longer tell you what's best for you; Whoever you voted for, will. At the end of the day, your voice won't make much of a difference anyway. What does it feel like exercising your "freedom" at your age?

If something is broken, leaking, or malfunctioning, take care of it on your own. Your mommy and daddy will refuse to do it for you because of your overwhelming "teen maturity."

You will need health insurance because of your stupidity to let yourself get sick, or break your limbs. No more comforting, gracious words in the care of mommy and daddy. It's your responsibility now to be whole according to society. Go ahead and smoke and drink; society tells you to. Society knows best. No more free hospitality from family. Hooray for government-supported healthcare! How about an abortion or some birth control pills to add to your "healthcare?" At least children have no such concern!

You want to be an adult so bad, here some more goodies to enjoy from this mysterious golden platter.
When you're older, you get to wear adult diapers, rotting teeth, wrinkled skin, moles, hair to shave off, baldness, infertility. Sure, you get to have cancer of the balls, breasts, illnesses from alcoholism, narcotics, what's in your pee.

Why can't you just stay as an innocent child and grow up gradually but graciously naturally? There is no need to rush into it. Where is the wisdom that tells any of us to run towards a charging bull? Why must anyone do that? What's the real gain?

There you go. This is what you wanted. That's your life as an adult. Why not just patiently wait for the right time?
