Tender Eyes of Mercy and Oceans of Love





You awaken me at night and I see your eyes of mercy, tenderness from above

May I not live to myself, but let me drown in the kindness of Your love



Countless are your thoughts of supplying all I need,

But I need, I need, and I need more of You indeed



Your presence is sweet pleasure and I long to stay

Each moment to speak to You and adore each minute of the day



I no longer see each part of creation as smallness and mortal dust

I see a mighty genius at work and a life sustaining thrust



In desperate meanness and pride Your enemies will fail

The mighty iron sword of your words will assail



Father, please protect me from the enemy each and every day

To know of your love to me and mine to yours, to always stay



Cause me to remember the day I will breathe the last and final breath

Never forgetting I am Your servant until the valley of the shadow of death
