That's the Way He Is

There He goes.
Five thousand people wait for Him
as he gets ready to open His mouth.
I can't understand
how He can still go on like this.

We have followed this Messiah
without any reservation.
We have joined Him throughout
Galilee, Sidon, Gadara, and Jerusalem.
Although we are totally exhausted
He seems not to give in.
That's the way He is.

Sometimes, He smiles.
Other times, I can see Him pray alone.
Despite all the opposition He suffers
from Pharisees, Sadducees, and Herodians.
I can't comprehend
how He does not relent in His mission.

We're surrounded by people
everywhere we go.
Many times, we struggle to understand
to what our Master is trying to tell us.
Despite the heavy burden
He has upon Him, he seems not to faint.
That's the way He is.

Many people love Him,
but others hate Him with intensity.
However, that seems not to affect Him.
I have never seen a man suffer as He does,
and yet He comes to us with determination.
Despite all the trials he faces
He seems not to give in.
That's the way He is.
