The Blessing Star

Shined on a baby from afar
A glorious sight, that holy- night
The blessing star
What a sight
The world in pain, now would gain
The blessing star, shinning on the sight
God’s greatest gift that glorious night
Heavens greatest gift
In a manger lying still
When people saw Him
They knew He was real
He came in the flesh
To save a world
From sin and death
The cross He was to bear
Who would have guessed, as
The people did stare
The one in a manger
Who would take their sin away?
If they would repent
And say
God I believe
Forgive me this day
The blessing star
Pointed the way
Wise men seek Him
He is the way
Jesus the God-Son
Come in the flesh
The blessing star
Shinning in a dark world
On that Holy night
What a sight
The blessing star

There came a Star of Jacob out,
Where is he born King of Jews they shout?
a Sceptre rose, of Israel out
The eastern star shines bright throughout
The world came not to worship him.

Then Herod, who had privily
called the wise men, inquired to see
of them asking diligently
what time the star appeared to be.
The world came not to worship him.

When they had heard the king they said
this sneaky king would have him dead
departed they; another way
and, lo, the eastern star, they saw ahead
The world came not to worship him.

They went and went, the star before,
till they came where the young child poor
Laid in a shack of wood with cattle door
The world came not to worship him.

Rejoiced they with exceeding joy.
Great praise and love, they found the boy!
God's tabernacle, God himself, envoy!
The world came not to worship him.

Made one with man O praise earth's God
He came to dwell upon our sod
to live and breath without one nod
The world came not to worship him.

Should men have know that this was he?
Our king, our God, eternally?
Came down to live like you and me?
The world came not to worship him.

They should have known fir it was said
the prophets spoke and all were dead
twas written in the scrolls most dread
The world came not to worship him.

They did not read, they did not care
they did not study anywhere
they did not feel they should soon see
the king of all eterntiy
The world came not to worship him.

They did not read their bibles blessed
the missed the opportune twas best
to see fulfillment of the test
to see if men caredtwas the test
The world came not to worship him.

So Jesus now will come again
and men as 'fore will say O when
a thousand years two thousnad best?
who cares when Jesus comes at best
The world came not to worship him.

He's coming now and they dont care
I promise you theyll quake and fear
when dark the skies grow and the hear
the thunderclap of nuclear
The world came not to worship him.

We have sure words of prophecy;
ye'd doo well that ye take a heed,
as unto a light that shineth in
a dark place, man, remove your sins

and the day star arise in your hearts:
And I will give him the morning star.
