I write songs and I know it isn't poetry it still is similar. Sometimes you have to repeat some lines or words and make the words flow with the music but basically it is very similar to poetry. I have written many spiritual sings as well as everyday songs. But all my songs will have a message about God or life. I wrote this song about 7 years ago about mankind destroying the planet. Its about how we all have to give account of ourselves when Christ returns and will be be ready. But its also about how things will only get worse as we use the planets resources and find it harder to survive.
The returning.

I'm looking through a Kaleidoscope at a distant world so far away
and I can't tell which way its turning.
Where all I can see is empty space and living life has left no trace
and all the desert lands are burning.

As the time goes ticking by I sit and often wonder why
who are we and why are we here.
And as the time gets close at hand I begin to understand
as the haze begins to clear.
