THERE IS NO POEM
Coral Gathman Cook
There is no Poem
To ease this Pain
For there is no Poem
Which Speaks my Heart
And Songs
Empty Silent Songs
Cry their Futile, Voiceless Cries
And are not Heard
The Music of the Spheres
Lofty Noble Heaven's Song
Occupies such High Estate
Forbids me Place within its Range
Were there Words enough Intense
For my Heart's Cry
Surely they'd be found too Strong to Speak
Or Having Once Been Said
Would find the Human Heart
Too Deaf to Hear
