Truth Is Really a Tough Word

In the middle of beautiful words
where poetry and rhymes seem to color it all
In a word where elegance and romanticism
is the rule to gain people's admiration
in the delicate and soft vocabulary of our lives
Truth is really a tough word

You can spend twenty years
gaining crowds by your eloquence
and getting high by your uplifting speech
but when you decide to join the truth
admiration becomes hatred

In a world where man's word is law
and man's will his banner of leadership
where the end justifies all means
and victories are shown despite the hidden causes
Truth seems to be a tough word

Truth is not eloquent at all
it is not wanted in any language
because of its way of saying things
it has no respect for the rich or the poor
it befriends no one and is always lonely

In a world where self-esteem is important
where my testimony is based in partial members
In a society where words became a credit card
and famous phrases became money
to hide our opposite and shocking reality
Truth is really a tough word

Truth is harder to find
You will not see it in the main shelves
or between the large crowds
You will not see it in the main channels
or in the advertisements
You will see it in lonely and silent places

Very few find it at a very high cost
their lives are not the same
and very soon they become lepers in society
because of their rebellion against the system

In a world where being the number one
is the most heroic act of all
In an age where being awesome
is the rule to gain success
Truth is really a tough word
