When was the last time
you took a real decision?
instead of weeping the thirteenth time
in the same old sofa
Why so much fear and intimidation
to take a step that may change your life?
Do not believe the lie that time heals it all
if your excuse is doing nothing to change for the better

When are you going to wake up
and throw your self-pity to the bin?
Minutes will not go back for you
and pat you in the back to encourage you
Years will pass by like doves
and the only thing you'll get are wrinkles
and some white hair to make you look wiser
to hide all the cowardice you always had

When was the last time
you decided to act in true faith
like Abraham when he left Haran?
Men will not knock on your door by magic
or gonna take you seriously
if you remain with your face down
and putting barriers to avoid a simple greeting
Years will pass by like the wind
to put you a cipher that makes you look grown up
when actually it will speak against you

Your life will remain the same because of you
and meanwhile the Devil
will still give you psychological meetings
and recommending you books of despair
Do not blame God when that day comes
when the grave is near to make you realize
your waiting in God was a total farce
based on false expectations that led you nowhere

When are you gonna react
and start making changes for your own good
and for the people around you?
Years will pass by
and your depression will become anger
and that anger will end up in fatal decisions
Start over is not something to be embarrassed of
but of maturity and willingness to go on
When are you gonna understand
that the Holy Spirit is not meant to be your maid
but your mentor in fixing the big hole you're in

Years will pass by
and your pride will still be the ruler
in your own living room
for not accepting help and guidance
Years will pass by
and the cradle will still holding you
no matter the length of your size
Years will pass by
and God will still be wondering why
your free will is still your favorite answer
to close your ears to His voice

I like your poem and unfortunately I can relate all too well. Someone has hurt you huh? I was married when I was really young 17 and divorced at 24 then I fell in love with a guy and our story was a what might have been situation, but I knew if I married him the odds of me staying with God were slim so I did not marry him.

But I didn't marry anyone else either after him and the years passed by just like your poem states. However, I did come to find my one true love which is Jesus/God.

God never disappoints me, I know He is always with me and I know He watches out and takes care of me. So I say connect with God and Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you.

You are still really young and if it is God's will you will find someone to love and marry - move on with God and forget what might have been.

Well, actually I never had a girlfriend in my entire life.

I wrote this poetry inspired in many events.

I am not married.

But we need to step up and do something for God before it is too late.

Thank you anyway for such an honest response
