...I'd love to hear anyone's explanations for how pornography as a whole... is actually bad for anyone, or violates any of God's precepts.
Well, have you not yet believed Psalm 19? :)

"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer" (Psalm 19:14).

When a sinner comes to the saving grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, that sinner no longer wants to participate in anything other than to be acceptable to God because that's the whole purpose of leaving the sin life behind: to be united in complete fellowship with Jesus Christ and His holy thoughts. ...just saying. :)

that's a very unbiblical thing to say ;)
I know :( I'll go sit in the corner and think about what I've done :p

I'll also stop messing up Liamson's thread...

While the bible is certainly specific as far as adultery,... I haven't ...found anything that actually says that sex before marriage,... is against God's edicts.
Well, here's God's opinion on the matter. "Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled, but fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4).

blacksheep, I would respond to your reply, but I think that topic would be best suited for a new thread, instead of taking up more of Liamson's, because the OP is not about porn.

Back on topic, I like those commandments. They're practical, they're smart, and, most importantly, they're godly. They're all great, but I especially like number 1. It's unhealthy for a couple to be so wrapped up in themselves that they lose who they are, lose sight of reality, and ignore their friends. And it's annoying.

I also can't stand those floofy dating sayings like the example you gave in your second post. Bleh. One that irks me is, "You should be so focused on God that he has to seek Him to find you" or something like that.

First, I have combed over multiple translations of the old and new testaments, engaged in in-depth discussion with priests, and... I am very familiar with the larger array of Christian principles. ...

Second, I have no agenda, and no fight. This is a discussion.
Pardon me, but if you are familiar with Christian principles, how are you practicing and encouraging the readers to "...pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart"?

Our dear Liamson started a thread for godly conversation, but you seem to be bothered with God's opinions on godly living. If you are thoroughly informed about Christian principles, why are you agreeing with the World's secular ways of vice and perdition? ...just saying. :)

Since you are dying to make this about something its not...

https://www.thepinkcross.org/

The pink Cross Foundation is an Organization that educates people about "the industry" and the effects Pornography has on people both, relationally and Psychologically. Lets just say, its not pretty and its certainly not some benign thing that is taken lightly.

Also the Temple prostitution thing, is complete BS. This is the same faulty translation used to Justify Homosexuality, when the Bible is really clear about that.

When I say "In the eyes of God" I'm not just using those words because I pulled them out of thin air. I'm saying that because that is what you added. It changes the nature of the Context that the original lines intended. You bring up virginity, when the line is simply saying, promote purity. Instead of seeing what you can get away with, promote a culture that cherishes the virtues of not pushing lines and boundaries. If you are or are not a Virgin is irrelevant to what you pursue in your current and future relationships.

Also dressing provocatively for a date, is intended to provoke a certain response. Telling people to have good judgement is common sense, to make sure that both parties don't have sex too soon. Hence why the line in the Lord's prayer says, "Lead me not into temptation." In no way is this line or what I'm saying promoting the idea that if you dress in the wrong outfit you're gonna get raped.

Rape Culture, Slut Shaming, whatever you were talking about is not apart of this discussion.

Whatever perverted thing you wanna do on your dates is your business, trying to justify it or reason around why it should be okay, is whatever you will make of it. But Christians do not aim for the lowest standards of barely meeting the requirements. Christians do no plot ways to get away with lust, so long as its not "Destructive, Covetous Craving for another person"

I'm not in the business of looking for relativistic legal loopholes to justify a lifestyle or behavior that I am engaged in. Calling myself a Christian, literally means nothing if I can rationalize everything I do.

And yes, Christians agree with me. I'm not making a claim on the foundation that they do but, they do.

There will always be people who will read the Bible solely for the purpose of determining just how close to the fire they can dance and not get burned, not understanding that when they do that, they are already beginning to smell like smoke. If it gets any smokier in here, I'm going to need my inhaler.

Liamson, sorry your thread has been so dreadfully trashed, my friend. Liked the OP. Good stuff.

Commandment 2 in this book really tackles and shoots down the whole Hyper spiritual Nonsense that fills people's minds with hot garbage like this....

People who buy into this are setting themselves up to be manipulated.
I can't stand these sayings. There's one that applies for women too, i can't remember it, but i hated that one equally as much!

<---Now here's a smiley face so this post doesn't sound so angry
