Lol @ a woman afraid of love. There is no such thing. Women spend a fair portion of their lives immersed in romance shows, sitcoms and talk shows that revolve around romance, romance novels, and it's the topic they discuss most when they're with other women.

She's not afraid of love NFD33. She just doesn't want it with you. Take the hint and move on. There's plenty more oranges in the orchard, fish in the sea, etc...
I agree. If she says no to dating you, you should just move on. This is assuming you've asked her out with you? And if she's a kind person, she's going to try to let you down easy.

What are ways a woman may act or things a woman may do if she is in love but is scared to be in love?

Any experiences are appreciated whether you're the woman afraid to love or the guy on the receiving end. Any advice on how to deal with a woman who is afraid to love are appreciated too.
It happens of course. Sometimes it can be cultural matters who hold women in shyness over loving a man (since they are not expected to take the initiative for a relation). It can also be wounds of the past, wounds of huge hurt, wounds that have not healed yet, that make a woman if not afraid but yet extremely careful to fall in love again.

They'll give really sly hints of flirting. The usual smiling, laughing at your jokes, talking to you or finding excuses to, but when you flirt back they tend to draw away. That's the afraid to love part, they kind of realize what their doing or feeling and draw back or find ways to convince themselves out of it. Body language tells a lot! Plays with hair, mimics your movements, looks away really quickly when eye contact is made, or even smiles when you make eye contact, eyes in general tell a lot actually, I'm sure theirs more so etc.

It takes a lot of work and probably feels like your picking daisies, she loves me, she love me not.

Advice?
Give them a reason not to be afraid :)

Then there was me... The woman who hates all those things. Your comment is so sexist!

But I did laugh because I know what it's like to be attend events and I want to have fun, but to my friends fun apparently is finding a man, huh *rolls eyes*
