1. What's one item in your house that you keep meaning to get rid of, but for some reason never do?
I don't know if I have anything like that anymore. I got rid of a breadmaker, because I prefer to hand knead. I've simplified my life so that I don't have so much stuff taking up space. Oh...I have an interesting assortment of elementary hand instruments: castanets, tambourines, maracas, rhythm sticks...that sort of thing. I keep thinking that someday I will get back into music education after leaving California.

2. How many DVD's (oooorrrrr blu-rays) do you have?
About a drawer full. Not gonna count. Wait. about half of those are X-Box games. Haven't played in months. hmmm...

3. What items are on the top shelf in your fridge?
some chicken I moved from the freezer last night, whipping cream, milk, stilton cheese (with apricots mixed in - yumm), some nasty hard lemonade type stuff that has been in the back of the shelf for about 4 years - maybe I can add that to question #1. :)

4. What's your favorite out-door winter activity?
If no snow - a nice hike when the air is chilly.
If snow and I have money - skiing

5. How many times in your life have you been stung by bees (wasps, yellow jackets, other stinging critters...)?
three - I stepped on one because I always went barefoot as a kid, one got caught in my hair once and stung my head, and I don't remember the other time. I've also been bitten by a vampire bat, but that's another story.

Cat, you're saying it was a "vampire bat." However, I'm betting it was REALLY your vampire date.
No. The date bit my ear. I was being very literal about the bat, which bit my neck. I didn't feel the bite until later. I woke up because it must have shifted or something and its wing tickled me.

I was teasing, Cat. :) I do remember hearing you speak briefly about the ear-biting... I will refrain from said Mike Tyson references I'm sure you've already been teased about... And I'm thinking... things that like to bite, whether bats or humans, sure do seem to be attracted to you.

I'm wondering if there are versions of "Deep Woods Off" that rebel bats and overzealous human females...

1. What's one item in your house that you keep meaning to get rid of, but for some reason never do?

dust, lol. and that pile of recycling in the garage... seems like every time i dispose of it it re-appears! :D

2. How many DVD's (oooorrrrr blu-rays) do you have?

me personally, zero. once i've seen a movie i rarely ever want to watch it again. our kid has about 100 though, rough guess.

3. What items are on the top shelf in your fridge?

kool-aid[SUP]®[/SUP], fruit juice, half an onion in a bag, half a can of wet cat food also bagged.

4. What's your favorite out-door winter activity?

making and tossing snowballs

5. How many times in your life have you been stung by bees (wasps, yellow jackets, other stinging critters...)?

do mosquitoes count? an awful lot. i hardly ever wear shoes outside, and iirc the only times i've been stung by a wasp/bee/hornet was when i stepped on them or their home, maybe 10-20 times total, and that's been probably 20 years since it's happened - i'm more careful now about looking where i put my feet. except for that time we were throwing old pipe organ parts onto a brushpile and discovered that a nest of wasps lived in it... that was 6-7 years ago too though. i got stung but my boss got the worst of it.

New Questions, again...because wow this forum is dead today.

1. What one word would you use to sum up your life?

Grace.

2. If you were a tree, what kind would you be (sorry! I'm struggling to think of questions!)?

3. What's a goal/dream you used to have, but gave up on or set aside? Why?

Hmmm. I wanted to be an astronaut when I was a kid. Had to set that one aside.

4. If you could live a day in the life of someone else, who would you choose (and no, this isn't about not liking your own life, it's about who you find interesting)?

Steven Spielberg

5. What's the scariest thing you've experienced in recent memory?

When I was a teenager, someone used to sneak out to our farm and mess with stuff. We'd find animals in different pens, stuff moved around, our big horned ram went missing once for a day... We found him later chained to a fence outside. Once I was up with a friend late at night and we saw flashlights out in the woods. Being stupid, we decided to investigate, so we snuck out to the carport and crawled into the van to get a better view while still being hidden. We never expected that they would approach the house - all of the evidence suggested they stayed in the pasture and barn area.

The flashlights, sure enough, started approaching the house. We hid in the back of the van behind the third row seat, scared to death. We heard shovels scraping across the concrete. Someone sat on the bumper of the van (or pushed it down), making me wonder if they knew we were in there. We could hear low voices talking. They eventually went away, but we stayed in the van for an hour or more just to be sure. When we crept back out and ran for the door to the house, it had been locked. The spare key... was in the BARN. The most terrifying night I can remember was the night we had to go in that barn to get that key, not knowing who or what was in it.

When we finally entered the barn, the first thing I saw was spray painted graffiti on some stuff along one wall. Heart pounding, I grabbed the key and we ran as fast as we could to the house. When we got inside the door, we realized that the dog had been locked in the kitchen, and there were doors opened and closed where there shouldn't have been. I'm pretty sure the people came into the house. It took us a long time to go to sleep that night.

In hindsight, there were many things I'd have done differently. But that will have to be the answer to an entirely different question. :p

New Questions!

1. What's one item in your house that you keep meaning to get rid of, but for some reason never do?
An old hand-held can opener

2. How many DVD's (oooorrrrr blu-rays) do you have?
Actually not that many. A few is all.

3. What items are on the top shelf in your fridge?
Spring water, honey crisp apples, leftover turkey, fresh broccoli

4. What's your favorite out-door winter activity?
Walking. That's my all-year-round favorite activity.

5. How many times in your life have you been stung by bees (wasps, yellow jackets, other stinging critters...)?

I'm 58 so I doubt I'll remember all the times. I do recall getting stung on my back by a wasp by sitting on a lawn chair and leaning back on it. And some kind of huge bee stung me on my arm when I was in the garden. And I got stung by a yellow jacket because I stepped on it with my bare foot. And I was attacked by fire ants twice but got 'em off my foot before too many bites. (I hate them things!!)

Mimosa tree (they are so pretty and their blossoms smell heavenly!)

Enoch on the day he was translated to heaven from earth.

A dream or vision I had of Jesus bound with leather straps on His wrists and being dragged to His torture.

Solving a proof for the Riemann Hypothesis.
I gave up on it because I'm no longer delusional.
