Right now, there is no Sunday morning worship team. The pastor decided that the way things were going just was not working. I agree. The worship team was a mess. I started dreading every single Sunday morning. It just felt like a mess. Especially after I came back from my break so I could "grieve," I guess.

I think sometimes I've forgotten how much I've wanted to become a musician...because I was so caught up in being a musician.


Crazy, right?

Not really. I was doing it for other people. I don't want to sound selfish and say I should be doing it for me or wanted to do it for me. At the same time, when did I start to do it because I felt like I absolutely had to or the progress that the church had made would just fall apart? I should have been doing it for God...and okay, doing it for me because I enjoy it isn't TOO selfish, is it? But yeah. Having time off from Sunday mornings and just focusing on youth group has been good for me. Though next week I'm doing Sunday morning with the youth group praise and worship team. Not sure how ready I am for that one. I guess we'll see.

I have a collegemate, whose father passed away this year. Things have been so terrible that my other friends have for the most part been unable to even tell me the details.

Her father was involved in a road accident in a rural area which was so terrible that they couldn't find his body. For many days his family believed he was missing and that one day he would come back home.

However after almost a week, they identified his body. It was brought to the medical college that one of my friends studies in and was given for autopsy.

Her father could only be recognized by the skull. I can't imagine the horror and trauma that this girl has gone through. It frightens me so much.

This is one of my worst fears - to be separated from the people I love. It gives me nightmares. I have had it since childhood and I don't know if I will ever be able to overcome it. It torments me.

I trust God will take care of everything and we will meet in heaven, but that event of such a loss is devastating.

Meanwhile I have become friends with this girl. We never spoke much and we both are very quiet.

But I think she found a lot of comfort in my company and how I never forced her into anything. The day I had to leave, she cried.

I'm not going to be on much, and when I am, probably not coherent, since having to get up even before the before the crack of down. In fact, I should probably be in bed right now. Sigh. Anyway, for all those lovely birthdays that I might miss, Happy Birthday. And for those that I don't, happy unbirthday.

Em, when I see your posts I see a girl who God is holding onto very tightly. You are struggling, doubting, hurting. But throughout all of that, God is keeping you. You are here. You believe in God. You know that he's out there. That tells me that he wrestles with you. He fights for you. And he wouldn't do that if you were not his beloved. Take heart.

Sometimes I read a post here or I see a picture on Facebook or someone in real life, someone I don't know, who just has that look or their face that I DO know, and I just want to go up to them and hug them and tell them how loved and beautiful and valuable they are even if they don't fit the world's standards of beautiful or valuable.

The fact that it's hard to believe that for myself is besides the point (or maybe not) but my heart gets so achey and full sometimes and all I can do for that person is to pray for God's gentle hand on their heart.
