Sooo... I was just reading a post that mentioned something about witholding weight in the "online" scene. I am aware that this is probably the most common thing that people (especially women) tend to "leave out" when making profiles and meeting new people online.

But it kinda offends me that people would opt out of talking to someone based on their size! lol cuz that's kinda what it sounds like! I, for one, am fat/fluffy/flabby/lumpy/pudgy/overweight/chubby/veluptious/whatever you decide to call it! haha I am secure enough in myself to say it but i have this to add...

I am one of the people that totally avoids putting full body pics in my profile because i KNOW how people are--judge on looks first and if they're "hot" we'll check out the personality. lol I'd much rather be judged on my personality from the get go! I mean, why do we, as fat people, have to be cast aside twice as fast? We're still gorgeous in God's eyes right? I know... cheesy... but i'm curious! lol

And you cant sit there and say it's cuz we're lazy slobs and you want someone "active" haha I mean seriously! I'm the first to jump up and want to go to the batting cages or skiing or swimming or hiking or even just to take the dog for a walk! I go rollerblading every day in the summer for hours on end! lol i LOVE working out and being active--and i know i'm not lazy! (most days anyways :p haha) but also--i love food! :D haha is that a crime? Pasta is my weakness! :p And i know a ton of overweight people (no pun intended) that are equally active but yes, love food! lol

It just blows me away that we could be so harshly judged based on genetics or body chemistry. I mean... I'd look silly if i was 120 lbs! I'd be completely disproportionate! lol Altho i do realize some fat people are that way because of laziness and overeating... but they're still people too!

I'm not saying EVERYONE is like this by any means. The keepers aren't quick to judge anyone :p haha

And, the fact that you could like someone-a lot-and as soon as you discover their weight you're all like "eww" lol I mean c'mon! It's our fault you imagined nonexistant Miss Perfect? :p It's one thing if we flat out lie and say we're 120 lbs when we're really 420 haha but is witholding just as bad?

Sorry this is so long! lol It just kinda bugged me! I wanna hear everyone's HONEST opinions!! Give it to me straight out! lol

I agree.. it's really sad that because of someone's weight (whether it's 5 pounds or 500) that they would be so quickly rejected, like they don't even matter.
I try to keep thinking that I shouldn't try to get people to accept me because of my looks, but I so often find myself trying to anyway!
I know that I have been pretty hypocritical, because I've judged too quickly too. Being honest.
But we (I) need to remember to treat others the way we (I) want to be treated, and therefore not judge them by their outward appearance.
I don't think that there is a "perfect" size, because it seems that when we're worried about it, we're never happy with it.
Just be healthy! And don't worry about the number!:D

The 'fat factor' is just another result of the sin nature that looks only at whats on the surface. And what people seem to like is what they are told to like by media and pop culture. If people would think for themselves, there might be a few more that would take time to get to see the real you, but they wont. And if media told everyone that fat is whats hot, then everyone would change their minds and like only the fat people. some cultures have the perspective of fatness being a sign of health and prosperity and therefore desire that more, which is just as wrong.
And its doesnt stop at weight, its everything. If your face isnt absolutely symmetrical, then you arent worth the time to get to know. Speach impediments, different fashion sense, anything that is outside the ideall, and you arent worthy. This all resembles the thinking of those that have put eugenics programs into works. The idea of improving the gene pool and thereby creating a master race by means of mass genocide during hitler's third reich was possibly the most visible of all of this, but the US was doing this before hitler was out of daipers, using several forms of intervention to keep the lesser breeds from reproducing. All this is related to evolution as well, with its philosophy of extrinsic value...only those that can be useful for improving society deserve to be here, survival of the fittest, might makes right, and so forth. this is the way of the world and will continue to elevate in severity until the Great White Judgement, new heavens and new earth, etc.
Now, i sorta got carried away a little, but it is all relevant to the point. Christians are not of the world, and although it is difficult since we live here, we should not try to fit in either. Expect people to make unfounded judgements on you. Dont be discouraged. Having to deal with all of this nonsence that the world embraces will not last forever.
Additionally, think of it this way iof it helps: in a way, this' fat factor' and all the other physical attributes that make someone undesireable in the eyes of the world are good things. They will effectively eliminate most shallow, undeserving men from wasting your time. (or women if youre a guy). :)

I don't think as far as online dating goes it's about wanting to cast 'harsh' judgment on someone. Everyone knows what they're attracted to for dating, and a person's weight is part of that determination. Some folks would like to know how much the other person weighs if they're considering them.

But I agree, that if you're just looking for folks to talk with online, then yeah, weight isn't an issue.

Stilly: but the problem is! people ask like right away "can i see a full body pic?" or "how much do you weigh?" and personally all i want is friends and i tell them this... and then they go and take a liking to me and it doesn't end! lol then they REALLY want to see a pic... and i just want a friend. and then as soon as they get a pic BAM! friendships over... and it kinda sucks. lol

Anyways... done with my Mika posting now. I really could care less about someone's weight on or off line. I have skinny, average and fat friends. It's all good as long as they have a good personality.

But I get what you're saying. People do do that alot, and it bugs me and I'm not even overweight. It's just so rude and shows a great lack of character for a person who judges someone based on weight and not on personality.

I'm not fat, neither sexy, lol..

I love to eat.. who doesn't? haha especially when I am with my guy friends, coz they too love to eat., but I keep my body fit because my family have a history of high-blood and according to studies being fat brings a lot of trouble in terms of health. so there! :D

I agree with what 1still_waters said.. ^_^

with one side of the arguement being very well represented in this thread, perhaps someone should speak up in defense of the other. like.. how it's so unnatural and unhealthy to have such mentioned weight condition, and what not. anyone?

i think the point of this thread is cuz we fat ppl get that all the time. im pretty sure we all know about the risks of being fat and i know most of us prolly try to get skinny. i know im trying. so yeah, i think this whole tread is about how ppl shouldny point that out all the time and just be your friend.

actually yeah! i'd like to hear what the other side has to say... why wouldn't you befriend a chub? lol or date one or whatever? i'm just curious... is it because ur embarressed to be around someone like that or you yourself just find it unhealthy? i want the truth behind this :p

4 me personally... the 1st place i look at is the face. iow (in other words)the initial attrraction is the face with me. so she can have a pretty face and the body dont matter. and then next and most importantly is the personality. and the personality if good accentuates thew face so much more. however it is the make or break thing. i can say many r pretty in the face yet i can't say that they r personality wise attractive? and i am not biscuitus though i do have a bit of a spare tire. so yeah personality is def the best.

i love all people no doubt. u should see the friends i've had over the years! they are of all shapes and sizes. :) i dont like being skinny skinny, pretty sure i'm not as healthy as i could be. and people asking me if i'm anorexic is lame...cause i eat like a pig.
