There’s a reason women cry over movies, love songs, sappy poems and like men who make them laugh. And if a woman’s heart is so hardened that it can’t be touched by such things, I have to wonder if it’s healthy enough for a relationship.
I think this is my new facebook status. :)

But I made the time/person vague in case you prefer to remain anonymous.

I've never been in a serious relationship, but anytime I'm handed something that resembles political games or some sort of treaty, I bolt.

Life is complicated and problem-filled enough.
Wise man. We're supposed to complement one another, not be a burden to one another.

SEE!!?!?!?!

That is the whole thing. He is trainable. He is the fill in the blank boyfriend and the choose your own adventure husband. For those of you who like to make your man into whatever your heart wishes to project him to be, Mr Darcy is your patron saint.

While i am a great fan of mr darcy i think you got it wrong liamson , they both shaped eachother , Elizabeth realised her prejudice of Mr darcy was totally wrong , and Mr Darcys pride stoped elizzbeth from seeing the person who he truely was because hed rather her beleive an untruth about him than let his pride tell her the truth..Both were totally unbendable until they were honest about themselves and honest with eachother and still it took some third parties to help them along the way because they both had too much stubborness and pride..

Maybe im wrong but thats how i see it

Agreed, Henry Tilney is the most admirable of all Jane Austen's male leads. I only say this because I'm told I'm basically him if he jumped out of the pages. :p

Hahahaha! I'm KIDDING! I so knew you'd say that :D

Seriously though..what if Mr Darcy is one of those awesomely romantic quiet guys with the spirit of David hiding inside? :) Men who are like that don't feel the need to reveal it before its time. :)

Yeah, having two relationships go sour isn't necessarily a bad start.

And thank you!

I need a man who can call me out when needed and is already trained.

Mr Darcy would bore me in 3 seconds flat.

I'm a fan too, bella. And not because of his weaknesses (which only make him more endearing), but for his strengths. I don't see him as being milktoast in the least.

It seems like so many people look at men one way or another, with the wild stallion on one end and the timid little "whatever you say, dear" puppy on the other end of the spectrum. I want the guy that's right about here:

PUPPY GUY -------------------------------MIDDLE-------------X marks the spot----------STALLION GUY

This is the guy who:
- doesn't think he's always right, but is smart/confident enough to know he probably is
- when he is right, just knowing it is enough
- wise enough to know when he's being "handled" and gives you that goofy grin that says "knock it off, darlin" haha
- won't let pride stand in the way of what he knows he can't live without
- and just when you are expecting one thing, he has an amazing surprise for you

Maybe having relationships go sour isn't a bad thing. Maybe it just means we set our sights too low.

The guys in the middle are amazing, bella. :) Who would respect the guy who was afraid to do anything without being told? Who would want the guy who plunders and leaves a ton of one night stands in his wake without a thought?

What about the guy who knows what the President said today, but can tell you the goofiest joke ever? Knows how to fix your lawnmower, but takes time to pet the kitten he finds underneath? Be the guy in a group of men that they all turn to for an answer, but knows how to cook your favorite dinner? Will hold you when you cry, but tell you to get that girlie pink fuzzy thing off of his toilet? Will hold out his hand to help you climb higher, but stand in your way if you try to climb without him?

I need that guy..

Exactly. Not necessarily low, just not right. In any case, many lessons learned.
