A co-worker bought a new telescope and was so excited about having seen Saturn's rings with her own eyes.

What are some of the most awe inspiring things you've ever seen with your own eyes? Post pics! We wanna see too! :)

Initially when I saw the title I was expecting to see a video or pic posted, so I guess I better try to kick this off. Pictures of the night sky rarely do justice. :(

Stars are high up on my list, even without a telescope :)

Northern lights are definitely in the category of breathtaking (Seen it three times).

Sunrise/ sunset is nice too, especially when there is a open area of sea beneath.

Also, though I haven't seen many of them in real life, I love how God has created so many strange creatures. I've "scratched" a catfish,it seemed to like it.

I think if holding a newborn doesn't inspire awe in you, there's something seriously wrong.

Yosemite Valley, not my pic but I've seen it firsthand.

Unfortunately the foreground doesn't look like this anymore. :(

Oncefallen, you two have the same haircut! :)

One thing that was awe-inspiring for me was seeing the Galilean Satellites of Jupiter through binoculars. This isn't my picture, but it's what I saw:

The sunsets in Arizona are the most beauiful things I've ever seen. I used to think that pictures were exaggerating, but now I know that they don't even come close to the real thing.

Mountains and really any beautiful scenery. It always makes me pause and think what a great artist God is. :)

I love when it snows at night and everything is quiet. The big flakes falling, the peace, the serenity, I just totally dig it. This is the only picture of mine with snow falling: Click Here

Wow! Good thread and wonderful posts!

Well, even though many of these have been said, I'll reiterate a few, and add others.

Space

...and that's just a small taste a a few nebula is all!

The Sky (within our hemisphere):

...and so much more!

Landscapes (Here's where I'm going to start using personal pictures!

]

Seasons

...and there's so much more again!!

So I suppose the summation of all of this reply is that, "God's creation awes and inspires me!"

The Grand Mesa is immediately SSE of Grand Junction. The Montrose area is a lot greener as I remember.

I believe you can see it from Montrose. Just beautiful. My pics are located 2 hours from Montrose, 3 hours from Grand Junction. God blessed us and allowed us to live in this beautiful area for 3 wonderful years. Stunning beauty!

Yes, you can see it from Montrose, but in my opinion the best views are from the north and west instead of the south. I lived just south of GJ for a year so I had a view similar to that from my back porch, the pic was taken from a friends home in Palisade.
