It's so hoooot in here and I wouldn't mind being drowned in a tub of ice. @_______@
I had to stick my foot in a bowl of ice water, up to above my ankle (I had rolled it playing racquetball) and I thought I was going to die it was SO cold. I was just squirming in my chair waiting for the 15-20 minutes pass before I could pull it back out again! It did make it feel better, but man those first few minutes...

One year ago this week we set record high temps on 8 consecutive days. We have been about 20 degrees below normal for this time of year. In March 2012, it was lower to upper 70s in the Big Apple. This year? We won't reach FIFTY till Good Friday. Call it global warming, global cooling, whatever ya want. After Hurricane Sandy and this miserable Spring weather, I threw out my Mother Nature plushy doll, action figure set, and tore up her autographed poster! No longer a fan! :p

Owww Rachel that is horrible and you're really supposed to put the ice in a bag and wrap the bag in a towel and put that against your skin. They way you did it will give you frostbite! :O

Remember the word RICE: Rest, Ice, Compression (wrap in elastic bandage), Elevation. Also, take painkillers if you haven't already. Hope u feel better.

With the ice, it should be 20 minutes maximum.

Well, thanks zeroturbulence!! :) I think I remember someone telling me to put it directly in ice water. I can't remember who. It's probably a good thing I don't remember or I'd text them and scold them right now!

It sounds just like me though to give myself frostbite while trying to help my ankle.

I'm not sure if it will actually give you frostbite but it definitely sounds like torture.
Here's some good info about dealing with a sprain or sports injury from WebMD:

I know someone who can knit you a shawl if it's that bad..oh there's always putting on a pair of socks too, unless of course you have misbehaving toes. That's never good, and if that's the case,my condolences.

I can sew and crochet...

How can you be warm but your fingers feel cold as ice? It happens to me when I am online late at night.

Poor circulation. What you need to crochet is finger toques to put on the tips of your fingers. Problem solved! :)

I'm Canadian. I LAUGH in the face of cold! HAHAHAHA!

But I'm usually wearing a parka, toque and a good pair of Sorels while I'm doing it.

Ung. I just stereotyped myself.

Depending on some weather records I live in the coldest province of Canada. For some reason I really appreciated this past winter, which was brutal, compared to some of our milder winters. It made me feel like a tough viking!

Skadoosh!
