For some reason, the posts in this thread make me feel so popular... then again, in context, maybe not.. hmm....

This is sort of part two of the first comic on natural beauty. I blame my mother for my coarse hair.

You're a pretty good cartoonist comic animator. Did you have any inspirations growing up? Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbs, Cartoon Network? ^^0

Yes, Zero! I am drawing these. And to Asifin, lots of inspiration! Calvin and Hobbes, Dan DeCarlo (Archie), good ol' Disney, some anime and a whole mess of stuff. I have a website but I'm not sure how CC is about posting personal links. Although it IS a public site.

Yes, it has cursed me all of my life. It just keeps getting worse and worse. That's why I only use mysterious avatars. Pray for me.

You can post it as a signature. Long as you don't push it and try to talk everyone into going it should be fine. Just do a sig that says 'this is a link to my comic site' or whatever.

agirlandherguitar, that's awesome you are drawing these! :O You're great at it!

I can relate to the most recent one. My hair will look like the middle pane about halfway through the drying process, but once it's fully dried? Not so much.

Windy days are especially awesome for curly hair (not). :p

A classic saying and it's still true. However, beauty has been warped and there is a serious crisis among women (mostly). We can see the beauty in others but not in ourselves, and the type of beauty we're trying to see isn't something that a new haircut or makeup can reveal. I still struggle with that, although I grew up never really paying attention to what I looked like. Not because I didn't care but because I tried not to. Old habits die hard!

And... oh my gosh turbie twist! I want one. I want to look like Zsa Zsa Gabore.

Curly hair is annoying :/ I end up using ten tons of mousse just to make it stop being a 'fro, and my straight-haired friend is all "Gross, I can't stand using any kind of product in my hair, it's all sticky and makes my hair crunchy."

And I wanna throw the can of mousse at her.

MissCriss, I have a few friends who say they wish they had curly hair. I say, "NO! No. Don't wish for that." :p

I have learned to embrace the curliness of my hair, but some days make it hard for me to do that! Especially during the summer, when it's hot and humid.

agirlandherguitar, I was just thinking about this yesterday. It sort of has to do with beauty, but it also had to do with love. I was listening to a song that just came out by a young female singer, and I watched the music video to it. She was talking about how she'd love him forever, this love was going to make her die (it was just so strong, or whatever. I rolled my eyes) but in the music video, she was just dancing seductively and staring at the camera. I just thought, "This looks like infatuation, not love."

Our world/society has a skewed view of both love and beauty. Sometimes I even struggle with my view of beauty, and what really means vs. what I think it means.

Psalm 50:2
From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth.
