I definately agree with the points NodMyHeadLikeYeah has put forward.

So what are everyones thoughts on the old saying I quoted.

The couple who pray together stay together;
the couple that eats together sleeps together.

Would the idea behind this help a marriage stay strong?
I think the first part means you are both growing in God together, and the second part means you are one in heart with each other.

I think that a couple need more than pray together, i think that they need to obey together what bible say because the love is not optional :

Ephesians 5:22 "Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord"
Ephesians 5:25 "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her "

Firewire, it seems like you blame the failure of a marriage only on women. I don't know if you meant to make it sound that way, or if was just the way the post came out. It takes three to make a marriage work and it takes two to make it fail.

No, just from a male perspective. Let's face it..women can just as easily walk out now since they have "power" and capable of supporting themselves.

I'm sure women have their reasons but are unlikely to blame themselves.

Don't make assumptions.
