Man Blain, I just love your love and passion for our Lord. You have the right priorities and many could learn a lot from you and your example. Thanks for sharing brother.
lol my friend your words are more than I deserve not to mention I cannot take credit for any of this, the love and passion I have for the Lord was given to me from him it didn't originate from within me

I am a very judgemental person :( and when I just started on this website I always thought that Blain was a bit out there (to much to my liking :) ) but subsequent to that I have to apologise to him as I can see that he is a real stand-up guy. I like his passion and the way he investigates everything.

We will not always agree with everybody but his passion is contagious man :)
Well I am out there you were right about that, my mind has a different way of thinking and seeing things and it may seem strange to many people and it also may make people not like me or feel a bit wary of me but on the other hand it's because of my weird way of thinking and seeing things that can help me have insight to the things of God that that people normally wouldn't see. God always was one that works in the abnormal:)

You know what, I'm a very judgmental person as well and I actually had the same kind of impression about him too. A little too "lovey dovey" and a bit naive too maybe. I liked him, don't get me wrong, but I had a more eye rolling kind of impression, until I read his testimony and learned more about him and where he came from, and how the Lord is using him for His glory and I couldn't stop crying. I love this kid as much as I possibly can as a brother in Christ and have no idea what he even looks like, but I personally have no doubt God is using him for His glory, and the love he has, and shows on here, in my honest opinion, could ONLY come through the power of our awesome God. Thanks for sharing that, I understood completely.
LOL ya I can easily see how I can seem a bit Lovey dovey and I can be naive I won't lie about that as for what I look like I don't want my face to be my avatar but if I can find a way to take a picture and show you my face I will but just know I don't look my age at all

I hope you understood I was just pointing out my own flawed perception when I was typing this. I do NOT AT ALL still feel even close to the same way, you helped show me a character flaw in myself, or God used you to teach me, however you want to look at it.

Well, in order to answer that question I think we must begin by understanding what being a christian entails. And it entails basically what Jesus said in Matthew 16:24 "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me", so the answer is, everything in the christian life will involve some degree or another of hardship, of denying ourselves in order to do the will of God, and when it comes to finding a christian spouse I think it will have different levels of difficulty for there is diversity in the body of Christ and for some it is more difficult than to others to find their spouse, but in any case, the point is, there's no easy way in the christian life, whether it is finding a spouse, or travelling, or studying or working, you name it, whatever it is, the christian is always on a path of self denial and working hard in order to do the will of God. :)

I really don't think finding a Christian spouse is as hard as some people here make it sound....I know several Christian married couples. They're certainly not perfect, but they all truly love the Lord. I guess it just comes down to who He has planned for you, and what His timing is :)

Yeah sometimes I think dating is like driving around town looking for a place that specializes in takeout parmesan-mozzarella stromboli which you can order with broccoli and green apple Fanta. "God, just show me a place that serves Fanta! I'll even settle for that disgusting watermelon version!"

LOL ya I can easily see how I can seem a bit Lovey dovey and I can be naive

So you know how society presents us with several "types" to emulate? During the Renaissance, one of the male "types" that was presented was the Male Lover (think Romeo from Shakespeare's play). This male was romantic, idealistic, very gallant, charming, etc. He was NOT considered unmanly and only the most cynical of folks considered him naive.

Fast forward to 2015: You would think that modern society would offer a wide-range of types to men, but it's not so. Our modern world is so skeptical of intense emotion and cynical about love that this formerly legitimate kind of character is looked at with a bit of scorn. (I know because I always have to talk to my students about this when we read Romeo and Juliet). While it's acceptable for men to be warriors, or guardians, or leaders, the male lover has either been distorted into a "player" or watered down into an effeminate weakling.

Considering how much of the bible deals with love and intense emotion, I think that the Blains of this world need to bring this type back!

Anne?

Don't you have 2 girls an 1 boy?

Are you insinuating I am in sin just for the fact I'm single? ---Don't take this statement seriously, it is rhetorical:p---

Single is recommend [and enjoyed by many], but if one marries he does not sin either [and many enjoy this too].

But each has his own gift from God.

I was saying that I think it's hard to find a Christian spouse & that I feel that a lot of people think it's ok to live in sin...I know that being single is an awesome time for personal growth & growth with God.
