There's more than one Gomer? And I thought he was a dude?!
Ah! Sometimes names are repeated throughout the Bible. I was thinking about Genesis 10:2 but well done. ;)

The descendants of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.
I guess I'm the only idiot who, for a minute, thought Shour was talking about Gomer Pyle... (Yeah, I know he was talking about guys choosing a girl but it's almost like a word association thing... "Peanut Butter!" ... "Jelly!" ... "Gomer!" ... "Pyle!")

Like when my university crush told me that I had all the attributes she wanted in her boyfriend, but when I asked her out after a week she said, "I like you, but you are not boyfriend material!"

You mean like how I sometimes really want the affirmation of a guy's interest, but don't necessarily want to date him?

Or is this more like how people say happiness is being married to your best friend, but then we throw the term friend zone around like a solid friendship is a hinderance to romance?

Or is this more like the guy who says he wants to marry a nice girl, but keeps going to places the easy girls hang out and dating them and then wondering why he can't meet a nice girl?

I find it strange that when a woman marries a man, he may not be exactly what she is looking for, but she is confident that she can change him, but he doesn't change.

I also find it strange that when a man marries a woman, he wants her to stay exactly the same, but she changes.

I was thinking of the Gomer that Hosea married.

We say to someone who continually can't sing to just "make a joyful noise" or "I'm sure you sound great." Then when they really can't sing we say they sound good but not to try out for the choir or anything.

How about when somebody says stuff that makes you laugh REALLY HARD,
but there was so much truth in it...
you don't really want anyone to know how hard you laughed?

That kind of contradiction?
: )

Good point! What's a happy contradiction?

Hmmm....

When you tell a guy that you like flowers and his response is "meh," but then he buys you flowers on your birthday.

Hilariously enough when I first read "Gomer" my mind turned it into Homer. As in Simpson.
Interestingly enough when I first read "Gomer" my mind turned it into Homer. As in, a unit of measurement.

Some women say they want a man, then when listing what a 'good' man is, describe another woman...

On a similar note, several women say what they want in a guy/relationship...yet frequently pass up such types or end such relationships...

Some women say they're not ready for a relationship, then date someone else a short time later...

*logical conclusion* Some women simply don't know what they want and/or have honesty issues. ^_~

Okay...lol, mini-bash over.

Sadly it is very common for women to have no idea what they want, or once they get something they think they want....and it's not what they want after all. Humans. *shrugs*

True, but this can often work in a man's favor.

I meet a girl, and she thinks, "Maybe I DO want a man with one giant eyeball!"

I always found it ridiculous when the men who are attracted to high-maintenance, high-fashion women then complain about how long it takes those women to get ready.

Not as in Homer of Simpson? :p Or Homer the author of the Odyssey and the Iliad?
