A question for you ladies out there:

So I passed this girl I knew from my acting class last year on my way to Theology 202 today (irrelevant detail).

I crushed on her for awhile, but never did anything. Anyway, in my depths of insanity on the campaign trail I would at times not self-medicate myself by going on facebook. The wonderful statuses complete with Dostoevsky quotes, obsession over the movie Lincoln, and other thoughtful and unique ideas would pop up every once in awhile on my feed. It turned out they were hers. So I decided to read one of her blog posts.

Brilliant...I then proceeded to read the rest of them.

I then came to the conclusion that the next time I see this girl, I would ask her out. I finally passed her on my way to class, and she said hello while flashing me the BIGGEST smile. You know me, I hate the use of capitals while writing a post, but there is no other way to express without saying that the gleam from her teeth blinded my eyes (actually, it was more the position of the sun). Anyway, neither of us could talk long. She was on the phone, I was late for class.

Seeing her again made me realize how greatly I would like to ask her out, and can't think of any way of doing it except via phone (the chances of another happenstance meeting are very insignificant).

So...if I were to call this girl tomorrow, would I come off as creepy or cool? We have not had any semblance of a real conversation since...December of 2011. And I might still be delirious as a result of my previous job.

Anyway, let us cast our votes, shall we? Creepy or Cool?

Helpful commentary would be very much appreciated.

I apologize for my redundancy in the first option. It's really late where I live.

this poll should be multiple choice. I pick the bottom too options. You also didnt clarify the third option as a date, so yes if you called me to hang out i would agree to it

That's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO creepy! (and I just used capitals on you!).

Being serious now...I don't know a lot about this girl so I can't give a definite answer because I don't know how she acted when she was around you or if she ever stared at you (do guys notice?) or if there was any way of possibly thinking that she at least, would be interested. I think a smile can mean more than a thousand words.....or maybe she is just friendly. I think I'm confusing you haha sorry.

Conclusion: No, I don't think it would be creepy, but that's just me. If I thought someone was interesting and I knew that the guy wasn't creepy, I would get excited if he called me. You don't look creepy at all, and since you just saw her recently I think it's all good . :)

Give it a shot, whats the worst she could do? Hang up?

And maybe add the line "I haven't done this before, but I wanted to get ahold of you and this was the only way I could"

It might be odd if you hadn't seen her in years or something but still not creepy even then depending on your approach. If you were to call and somehow let it slip that you have a storage locker full of women's hair or that you have a special shovel for burying things in your backyard THAT would be creepy

Why don't you ease into reminding her how great you are with some thoughtful commentary on her facebook posts or something. Then once you know your awesomeness is fully cemented in her mind, give her a call

It's not only creepy, but unrealistic. Everyone knows that the shovel is stored in the trunk of your car, along side the rope, duct tape, paper towels, and waterless hand cleaner.

Well people that's 8 votes for, and zero against. Commentary all positive.

I think I know what I will do either today or tomorrow. Thank you, friends!

Are you wanting to go the casual route of "Hey, it was great seeing you yesterday, want to go out for coffee sometime and catch up?" or the bold route of "Hey, it was nice seeing you yesterday, wanna go on a date?" They're both pretty much asking the same thing, but I think the first option might be a little "safer" and less abrupt since you haven't talked to her in a while.

Either way, I don't think it'd be creepy. :)

what's unrealistic? i didn't say WHERE he kept the shovel. all of what you just said would be assumed

Well if you have exchanged numbers, give her a call. If you has to ask "so how did you get my number?" maybe go for the direct approach... Good luck either way :)

Sorry, my mistake... I somehow read your post as 'keeping the shovel in the backyard' which would just be silly.

I should have explained. We exchanged numbers for a class project about 15 months ago.

Ritter, don't ever glance at women as your walking to your theology class, I'll tell you why.

Back when I was in Bible College, I was told by many people that I was going to be the next "B.B. Warfied" theologian par excellence!!! Until one day as I was walking to my theology class, I caught a glimpse of a blond-haired blue-eyed college girl wearing a Hello Kitty backpack and who was looking back at me.................. and to make a long story short - today I'm working at the local Bob's Big Boy flipping burgers for young Bible College students who I jealously overhear discussing the existential liberal theology of Rudolf Bultmann vs the the more scripturally robust theology of Karl Barth.

The moral of the story is NEVER stop to talk to women on your way to theology class, or you'll end up a sorry two-bit psuedo-theologian like me!

You've been warned, my friend. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!
